Unexplained explosions surprisingly frequent in the city. Times Square recruiting station damaged in 2008:

They are reporting that the police said the explosive device involved in the Times Square blast earlier was somewhat similar to the devises used in two earlier bombings at foreign consulates in Manhatten back in 2005 & 2007. The bomb had been placedin an ammunition box like one can buy at a military supply store.

Chaotic scene at Crossroads Center. Stabber wounds several, is dead. Police say scene contained.

St. Cloud Police Sgt. Jason Burke told the Times that a stabbing report started the incident. He said there are multiple confirmed victims and police believe the suspect is dead.

Later, in a 10 p.m. news conference, Burke confirmed that the suspect was killed and that his body was still inside the mall. Burke said an undetermined number of people still remain inside the mall, and that the investigation is ongoing. He said police would provide an updated about 11 p.m.-Multiple gunshots and stabbing victims.

Reading that the explosion appeared to have come from a toolbox in front of 131 West 23rd St. Several people were injured in the alleged garbage-can explosion in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York Sat. night.

This is awful. I can imagine the innocent families out for a nice evening and then this. I wonder who the attacker was?

I don't remember where I saw the video of a bunch of Muslim teens running through a mall screaming today. The police arrested 10 of them.
