When I reead the misspell of “car” as “cat” it was the first thing that popped into mind. Toonces can drive, but just not very well.
I bring my Trump sign in at night. I do have surveillance cameras but I would rather just have the sign. So if one is so brazen as to steal it during daylight hours I will have them on camera.

Also, you shouldn’t mess with utility poles unless you exactly what your doing. If there’s a nearby tree, it would be a much better option. If it has a good amount of branches you also have a more options in aiming a camera for the best view.

Makes sense in that most people wouldn’t see it at night anyway.

My first Trump sign lasted less than 24 hours. My 2nd Trump sign lasted less than 48 hours. Reported to the police. My 3rd Trump sign will be larger, sturdier, and wired to the steel barricade that keeps cars out of the ditch. It will also have a Trail Cam trained on it.
In the mean time, I have an older, Trump (not Trump-Pence) sign that will go up tomorrow morning for the interim because my conservative book club meets at my place tomorrow night, and I want them to be able to find my driveway easily.
It will be part of a display of conservative candidate signs for all offices on the Nov. Ballot PLUS a “We Support our Police” sign.
I’ve lived in this house for 30 years and have displayed political signs for every election, local, state, and national, and have never had one touched before. I’m mad about this. The police were sympathetic and have promised to return any Trump signs that are turned in at the local PD to me. The local cop who came out to take my report turns out to be a Trump supporter.
I understand that there is a product called “Tanglefoot” that you can spread on the sign that people cannot get off of their hands.
Frame the sign with bird-spike strips.

They stole ours within 24 hours of putting it up. So my husband got in touch with the local Trump campaign headquarters, called our neighbors and asked who wanted one in their front yard, and now we have about 8 on our one block alone. One man caught a Spanish looking kid just getting off the school bus trying to take his sign, but he yelled at him and he ran off.

In this county, only one group of people (Democrats) do it as a matter of course and as an "organized sport." It has gone on as long as I have lived here, and it is going on now.
In a local state house race, the Republican candidate had signs out early, and there were a lot of them. One morning last week over half of them had been defaced or stolen, and - coincidentally, of course - within a few days the Democrat opponent suddenly had heretofore sparse signs sprouting up in veritable clusters. The word went out, and various goons:
a: whacked the opponent's signs
b: showed up at registered "D" voters' doorsteps with their own candidate's signs and an offer that can't be refused.
If a Democrat sign gets vandalized, there is an investigation; Republican signs… well, that's just high-spirited, old-fashioned politics. That is how it works around here.

Better still; get a few sheets of 3/8ths plywood, drive 16 penny nails through it about 2 inches on center, set up the plywood to cover all the ground around the sign with the nails up.
Make sure you put a little picket fence about 2 feet high around the whole thing to keep out the dogs and cats.
You will find the perps at the nearest Emergency Room.
We used to use this setup to keep the bears out of the fruit trees.

Help!
Does anyone know how to get freed from Tanglefoot without mineral spirits? I tripped and fell hair-first into a big ball of the stuff. So far, these have not worked:
Turpentine
Detergent
Krud Kutter
Goo Gone
Perhaps this is the stupidest thing I’ve done gardening (reference to an earlier thread.)
