I get so aggravated sometimes with the seeming lack of progress to the better in a situation. Surely this or that situation is not the best we could get, is it?
I have to cool my jets at such a point and go humbly praying for wisdom. And usually, it comes to my mind once I do. I’d like to rage a problem into tumbling head over heels. And invariably that falls short of the glory of God and I end up feeling like a heel.
“Do not grow weary in well doing.” The trick here, is that it isn’t the same as secular do-gooding.

Being able to play the “game” with resilience is a large part of it. We may be thrown on our rears and that isn’t even our fault. But wallowing on our rears is our fault.
Righteous indignation .. IS NOT HATE.
It’s more about hating what people DO .. instead of hating them. They can be under influences of which we have no knowledge.
Jesus was righteously indignant when he stormed into the temple and physically threw people and other items out into the street. HE didn’t hate anybody .. but HE hated what they were doing to the Temple.
And don't hand me that nonsense about his being ineligible.
The OP doesn’t say, ‘I hate his evil.’ It says, ‘I hate him.’
Matthew 5:22
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment:
For it is a great punishment and a severe
judgment of God, that one would hold God and
His Word in such contempt, that one would not
hear it and will neither honor nor respect His
ministers.
there is a sin that leads to death that we are
advised not to pray for.
that is for the people who claim to be Christians
but have departed from the faith.
1John 5:16
16 If anyone sees his brother [believer]
committing a sin that does not [lead to] death
(the extinguishing of life), he will pray and
[God] will give him life [yes, He will grant life to
all those whose sin is not one leading to death].
There is a sin [that leads] to death; I do not say
that one should pray for that.
and it is described here........
Romans 1:24-32
24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of
their [own] hearts to sexual impurity, to the
dishonoring of their bodies among themselves
[abandoning them to the degrading power of
sin], 25 Because they exchanged the truth of
God for a lie and worshiped and served the
creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed
forever! Amen (so be it). [xr]. 26 For this reason
God gave them over and abandoned them to
vile affections and degrading passions. For
their women exchanged their natural function
for an unnatural and abnormal one, 27 And
the men also turned from natural relations with
women and were set ablaze (burning out,
consumed) with lust for one anothermen
committing shameful acts with men and
suffering in their own [fn]odies and
personalities the inevitable consequences and
penalty of their wrong-doing and going astray,
which was [their] fitting retribution. 28 And so,
since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or
approve of Him or consider Him worth the
knowing, God gave them over to a base and
condemned mind to do things not proper or
decent but loathsome, 29 Until they were filled
(permeated and saturated) with every kind of
unrighteousness, iniquity, grasping and
covetous greed, and malice. [They were] full of
envy and jealousy, murder, strife, deceit and
treachery, ill will and cruel ways. [They were]
secret backbiters and gossipers, 30 Slanderers,
hateful to and hating God, full of insolence,
arrogance, [and] boasting; inventors of new
forms of evil, disobedient and undutiful to
parents. 31 [They were] without understanding,
conscienceless and faithless, heartless and
loveless [and] merciless. 32 Though they are
fully aware of Gods righteous decree that those
who do such things deserve to die, they not only
do them themselves but approve and applaud
others who practice them.
Ephesians 5:11
Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and
darkness; instead, expose them.
Psalm 119:53
53 Burning indignation has seized me because
of the wicked,
Who forsake Your law.
“A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct.” Proverbs
10:23
“Fools mock at sin.” Proverbs 14:9
“Folly delights a man who is destitute of
wisdom—but a man of understanding walks
uprightly.” Proverbs 15:21
“The mouth of the wicked gulps down evil!”
Proverbs 19:28
“Their souls delight in their abominations.”
Isaiah 66:3
“They love to indulge in evil pleasures.” 2 Peter
2:13
“The wicked freely strut about, when what is
vile is honored among men.” Psalm 12:8
“He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their
heart; that they should not see with their eyes,
nor understand with their heart, and be
converted, and I should heal them. These things
said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake
of him.” (Joh 12:40-41)
sounds like someone you know?
Yes, and she prefaced it with “Dear Lord, forgive me”, so it is safe to conclude that was what she meant. Anyway, it is not a Salvation issue. Peace and Grace.
This thread did not provide the catharsis I expected it to provide.
I can give you a hand with that hate.
I personally believe that GOD is just fine with hate when it is directed at the SPAWN OF SATAN and HELL.
I think OBASTARD and the UN fit that bill.
Loving as Christ loved is certainly a salvation issue. Notice what 1 Corinthians 13 says about love/agape—without it nothing else matters.
Then there is the picture of Judgement Day presented by the Lord. Salvation didn’t come down to a doctrinal quiz or who belonged to the best assembly/church.
Rather, Jesus said [paraphrase] ‘I was hungry, and you fed Me; I was thirsty, and you gave Me water; I was in prison, and you visited Me, naked, and you clothed Me, a stranger, and you invited Me in,’ etc.
That is agape in action. [Of course I believe that salvation is by grace through faith, as a result of Christ’s Attonement. But the Judgement Day list is from Christ as well.]
Thank you.
Your very welcome! Peace and Grace!
Obama is a tool of Satan.
You did not do that.
Pray for our nation.
You can’t hate him. You don’t know him. Hate is personal.
Thank you all for the responses...it might seem pathetic, but this community keeps me sane in MA. Peace to you all.
PS: my son says if I say Freeper again, he’s going to scream (meanwhile, he’s wearing a “Don’t tread on me” t-shirt :))
Stay sane and remember who wins.
Being a MA resident myself, I know exactly what you mean...
Well, he probably needs to exercise his lungs and vocal cords.
