Had some conservative nebbish shown up in a suit and a crew cut, and made a careful argument for conservative ideas, how many people would show up to listen, and what would the media coverage be?
Milo is an important figure in the counter-revolution.
Traditionalists lost the war many years ago. We are just in the “reconstruction” period. There is no traditional more that will be allowed to remain. Over many hundreds of years, a life-affirming culture may be able to be rebuilt. We can be hermits, living as we always have in refuge from the world. Or, we can engage with the world.
Well, having far fewer years ahead of me than behind, I think I’ll go for the hermit route. Having said that, I wish all the best for those who think they can change anything, especially if they think it’s going to change without God.
