Colonial pipeline is investigating what caused a pipeline to leak nearly 336,000 gallons of gasoline into a man-made retention pond.
That leak was discovered back on September 9th near Helena, Alabama after state workers noticed a strong smell of gas. The shutdown pipeline caused rising fuel prices amid gas shortages across the South.
Investigators say the broke portion, built in 1963, has since been repaired. A preliminary report does not identify the cause of the break as the federal investigation continues.
That kind of thinking is exactly why people that think like you need to stay up north and not infest our communities down here in the south with your progressive ideas. I never would have thought any FReeper would entertain the thought that any type of price gouging is OK. Because of my local store lowering the premium price of gas so all the community could afford to fill their tank, they will be getting all my business in the future. You don’t screw over your neighbors and community for a few bucks, you just don’t do that to them.
Only a true moron would call Walter Williams a progressive. Let alone me.
Conversation over.
Yup, stay the hell up there, don’t come down here where people actually look out for one another.
I’m sorry, I called you a moron too quickly before reading your post closer.
Someone with your level of thinking isn’t helping your neighbor when you have gas and they don’t cause you just drained the last 20 gall s from the underground tank. I submit that it’s far more caring to buy 5 gallons and leave 15 for your neighbors.
Higher costs is times of crisis encourages that rather than discourages. Nothing keeps you from opening your wallet to help them.
Ever crawled up onto your neighbors roof during a tropical storm to fix a broken vent that was allowing water to flood into the attic?
Ever run toward a gas leak while everyone else was evacuating?
Ever evacuated an office during an earthquake and was the last to leave?
Ever volunteered a couple thousand hours a year, every single year?
Ever driven 1000 miles just to help someone move?
Before you go and accuse me of not caring about others, perhaps you should ask.
Hey neighbor (since we aren’t in the same town anymore)...
I just got back from a business trip to Memphis and while we didn’t see any gas shortages we did pay about 30 cents higher than last week when we filled up in Memphis.
My tank is full and should get me through next week when hopefully sanity returns...
Classes on new software: IBM Kenexa Premier which is 1000 times better than what I was using before....I’m excited! (even though I know you are a Microsoft person...lol)
