Glenn Beck ‘Profoundly Sad’ After Cruz Endorses Trump: ‘Maybe It Is Time to Go to the Mountains

Shortened title.

Full title: Glenn Beck ‘Profoundly Sad’ After Cruz Endorses Trump: ‘Maybe It Is Time to Go to the Mountains for a While’

The Blaze founder Glenn Beck has weighed in on Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s endorsement of Republican nominee Donald Trump, writing that “[d]isappointment does not begin to describe” his feelings about Cruz’s endorsement of his former primary rival. Beck posted the following to his Facebook page:

Profoundly sad day for me.

Disappointment does not begin to describe.

Maybe it is time to go to the mountains for a while. (Read below and notice the knives prodding that direction) Again, disappointment doesn’t begin to describe my feelings.

I think enough time has passed I can reveal a few things publicly about my many encounters with Glenn.

I was invited on his show sometime around early 2010 when nis show had 3.5 million viewers (350 TIMES) that of CNN in a good hour. I gave him a copy of my “Patriot’s History of the United States” which he hadn’t read, but he read it over the weekend and called me back at home and told me how great it was. The next night he started holding it up every night on his show, saying what a great book it was. Sales exploded, and the book became a #1 NYT bestseller.

Glenn began to have me on the show every couple of weeks. We had dinner at his hotel in NYC. He began planning a weekly history segment with me. Producers called me 3-4 times a week.

Sometime in 2011 he began consulting heavily with David Barton, and everything changed. Barton wanted to be the history guy, began subbing for Glenn, and at the same time -—I think because of Barton-—Glenn started having these “restore” events. I think with that first event he began to see himself as a conservative MLK leading the masses.

And, for about two years, the masses followed. When he decided to leave Fox, I met with him again in NYC, pitching a series of programs for his new network, which I thought were not only very good but well budgeted and would have given his “network” some credibility. He rejected them, instead running him, Dana Zloesch, and Buck Sexton doing their radio shows.

Now that’s entertainment.

Barton got more influential. I can’t prove it but I think he had a key role in getting rid of Beck’s chief of staff and head of the charity, Joe Kerry. Barton then conveniently replaced Kerry. Next, they got rid of all of the top execs, including Chris Balfe and Joe Cheatwood (his media guy).

Beck’s company lost money hand over fist, by all accounts at least half that can be tied to his Trump derangement. But the TV/film stuff was terrible and the marketing plan not sensible. I think-—but cannot prove-—that Barton fed Beck’s derangement for his own purposes.

The last time I was on-—again with Barton as a “guest”-—they were discussing the 1920s and Germany, and he was trying to compare it to the US. Politically there was no connection in the way they were making: Germany was torn between communists, old line 19th century aristocrats, and a rising capitalist group of bankers. There were no “parties” as we understood it. Anyway, I kept providing the accurate historical record (in my view) and they didn’t want to hear it. I haven’t been invited back.

I think if one tracked Barton’s role in Beck’s collapse you would find he played a key part.

Isn't Barton the one that is now suing him?

Andrew Brietbart hated Glenn Beck and he was right!

It’s about time Cruz endorsed Trump - note how he cadged it as “honoring my pledge” instead of “trying to mitigate the damage I did to myself”....

“Glenn Beck: ‘Maybe It Is Time to Go to the Mountains”

I assume that “The Mountains” must be the particular residential treatment center/drying out clinic that Beck favors.

No. That is Chris Balfe, whom Beck is countersuing. Balfe is suing for wrongful termination.

Barton has always been good at make-believe history. A perfect fit for Beck.

Thanks for the input!
I had a feeling someone threw him off-track.
The RATS were clearly scared of him before he left FOX.
It would be interesting how he originally got connected with Barton

Is he OCD? Meaning he gets his focus stuck on one thing and can’t flex and shift to a new reality? This I wonder... Anyway all I can say to Glen is “You can’t always get want you want, but you may find you get what you need.” And God knows that the country needs a leader who is not only a Patriot, but a warrior, someone willing to fight for truth and justice and the American way of evolving into a better nation for all not just for certain categories that the Dems and MSM proclaim to be deserving. We need someone with eyes wide open who is willing to recruit and hire all the best and brightest to guide him as president rather then a narcissistic know it all who is out of touch with the common person and sides with those who want to destroy America and has no respect for the average American who is the backbone of our nation.

I’m pretty sure when he was looking for “experts” to be on the show he looked at Barton’s books, which appear to be very well-researched (but in fact often have fatal little “easter eggs” in them) and said, “ok, let’s put him on.”

Barton seemed to provide Beck exactly what he needed-—a historical religious justification for almost anything Glenn wanted to say.

He gave Beck the historical-religious justification to say whatever he wanted to say.

Yes.

Yes.

Off to the mountains... then after a 2 mouth pout ‘maybe time to go back to civilization’... and the drama starts all over...
