Samantha Power, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, told the UN Security Council on Sunday that Russia's action in Syria was barbarism, not counter-terrorism, according to Reuters. The ambassadors of Britain and France said war crimes have been committed there.

Seems to me that Russia is killing the bad guys.

Putin wants Assad to stay in business, because he wants to protect his natural gas resources. Assad does not want the pipeline going across Syria to the Med.

We want the pipeline. Go figure.

Speaking of war crimes, how about launching a war in Syria with zero legal structure at all.... just doing it.

I’m quite confident the UN will get right on this!

Russia and Syria have been allies for 50 years.

We have no interest in Syria and are dealing with and supplying corrupt rebels.

The Dems have that "regime change" bug again....and you know how that worked out.

We don't belong there!!

That’s because Israel (along with Saudi Arabia and Europe) is working with the US in providing support to the “moderate” beheaders and ISIS proxies to defeat Assad.

Barbaric? Sure. So is supporting ISIS.

Obama, Hillary: It’s on you. Maybe GWB created conditions of destabilization with the Iraq invasion, but he controlled the situation with the resident Iraq force.

Obama blew that off, ostensibly for political reasons. Now I’m not so sure. After his support for the MB in Egypt, and the Iran “deal”, I’m thinking he likes the idea of Muslim chaos in the Middle East.

i would NEVER support putin because in the end he wants us DEAD.

I would just leave that area and let them do what they do.

We’ve given our power in some of those countries away so there’s nothing left to be done.

Make strong friends with Egypt and tight alliance with Jordan, even though their no angels.

Turkey and syria are gone to either russia or muslim extremism. it is what it is.

but yes, i am glad that putin and the kurds are defeating ISIS.

i would rather assad in charge again so Christians can worship up and extremists killed. We know what he is too. The alternative is worse.

“Assad does not want the pipeline going across Syria to the Med.

The Saudi’s are desperate for that pipeline before Iran gets its nukes. Saudi Arabia and Iran are fighting a proxy war and Saudi Arabia is losing. The Saudi’s hated Assad and wanted to replace him with a friendly regime. They financed the civil war, then they lost control of their faction.

Incidentally, Israel has offered to host the pipeline for SA but that would be a tacit admission that Israel exists and it would probably spell the end of the current Saudi regime.

The current SA regime seems barbaric to us, but I guarantee whatever replaces it will make the royals seem like choir boys.

If SA had the guts, they would go toe to toe with Iran. But with Obama backing Iran even if they could win they won’t be allowed to. Once Obama is out of power SA should go for Iran’s throat. I don’t think they will, though. Despite the equipment there is no will to fight to the death for the very unpopular royals.

The Russians are just being Russians, while Obama is still hopelessly wimpy and clueless.

Has she used language like that to describe the U.S. backed ISIS?
No?
Didn’t think so

It was a U.S. strategy

Samantha, go make some coffee for the other world leaders, or something.

In other words, just shut up.

To sort of quote Bertrand Russell “war is seldom about who.is right. It’s about who is left” - I think the Russians understand this better than we do.

The Russians want to control most of Europe’s energy supply. Gives them enormous blackmail power without having to fire a shot, though they enjoy firing shots when they can get away with it.
