Ted Cruzs endorsement of Trump was the courageous right move both for Cruzs brand and for the country. But let me digress
I participated in the Cruz for President campaign from its beginning, initially as a videographer, shooting hours of footage of Cruz and interviews with his family that was used throughout the campaign. I attended the Cruz for President branding conference, along with about 15 others, where we contributed ideas to help formulate the campaigns marketing strategy. I settled into a role as a media advisor and writer for the campaign, submitting promotional ideas, op-eds, and written material for speeches and debates. I designed the "Courageous Conservatives" official Cruz campaign poster, and independently produced an animated Star Wars parody supporting Cruz, The Constitution Strikes Back, that went viral.

Sen. Cruz just made all the #NEVERTRUMPERS look like idiots, heh heh. http://gawker.com/watch-ted-cruz-s-daughter-literally-run-from-her-father-1773799772

I think we have to welcome Ted C back, be magnanimous. Politics is not touch football and I am sure Trump could use his right flank being covered and bringing in another 2-5% of the Republicans who were teetering on #NeverTrump. President Trump will need an ally in the Senate and like Reagan and Tip ONeil there can be respectful disagreement on things. Some of you really need to get over it. The rough primary helped Trump be the candidate he is today and who would have thought on the eve of the debate Hillary’s camp would be the one being petrified, hanging on for dear life as it is all slipping away.
Cruz knows which way the wind blows.
He’s a self important guy and his rich fantasy world crafted a private little reality where he’d be the man for all seasons and stand up for his model of traditional conservatism at the GOP Convention. In his mind, Trump would have faltered so badly that he insulated himself for the future by being against him on principle (which is really the only card in his deck).
He also probably expected a lot of pleading to support Trump, which flattered his ego.
What ended up happening was that Trump is on the ascent and has momentum, and nobody pleaded with him to come aboard. Now it dawns on him that Trump might actually win and he’s alienated himself from GOP Inc, The Trump Movement, and most importantly many (most?) GOP voters.
So now reality intrudes on his finely crafted fantasy world. The only play he had left was to come aboard and hope to mitigate some damage to his political career.
Courageous? Not at all. Shallow self interest, most likely.
If so, please show me exactly *WHAT* it is I "need to get over"
Oh I was addressing the whole thread, not you my friend.
It wasn’t an endorsement and it wasn’t courageous. Reince Priebus put Cruz and Kasch on final warning for future campaign funding.
or Wisconsin
Well, you know what they say; nothing opens closed minds faster than the sound of wallets slamming shut.
It was actually a good tactical move by Cruz that helps get the word out that the never trumpers are going to get ignored by the GOP. The message is they need to get behind Trump now. And the announcement is closer to but not on top of the election.
