Sheriff David Clarke:
“In a world of self-interest @SenTedCruz needs to be applauded for putting ego aside in the best interest of the country. Character counts.”

In case it’s unclear, Clarke tweeted the above re Cruz’ endorsement of Trump.

Cruz is an easy read in that regard...too little too late.

Yeah - courageous. More like trying to pick up the pieces so he doesn’t end up on some circuit court — night shift.

Ted Cruzs endorsement of Trump was the courageous right move both for Cruzs brand and for the country. Cruz's motivation is for Cruz and not for the party or the country. He will not be a Trump ally in the Senate.
To: Ray76
"Courageous would be an early endorsement, not a month before election day."In my view, (over) a month is more than enough time to make a difference with the Cruz supporters. Remember, Trump said of Cruz's endorsement: "If he gives it, I will not accept it!" the day after his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention. Where is Trump's retraction of that statement?

The lack of leadership, ethics and character was fully on display by Cruz at the convention.....
He signed the agreement......Period...

You could fit allthe Cruz supporters in a short bus and have room left over.

It is time to pull together on the same rope. Cruz’s late endorsement is not courageous but it is right, needed and welcomed. The party should be as united as possible down the home stretch to give Trump the mandate of a clear victory.
To: Biggirl
I guess he, and his followers, can stand in the back of the tent as long as they behave.

Glad to have Ted on board.
He can describe it how ever he pleases to make himself feel better.
Right now its all hands on deck!
To: Biggirl
Whenever I see ‘Cruz’ and ‘Courageous’ in the same sentence I quit reading.

Well, this endorsement does appear to be very late, but I see it as important.
It is the beginning of the soothing of a lot of folks’ hurt feelings.
It is a coming together for the country.

Courage to go against a Clinton? That’s the only courage perhaps he ever showed.

Actually it is the merest, minimal performance done very late and quite grudgingly. I’m not going to lavish praise on someone who sullenly did what they pledged to do, and then only under duress.

If Cruz is even remotely serious, let’s see him in WI and CO.
