This is a personal plea to my fellow FReepers. I'm not a political genius but I am a 72-year-old retired Washington DC attorney.
I've seen this all before.
I'll been fighting for conservative causes since Nixon in 1960. Those 56 years of political infighting have taught me one thing; ignore the polls, work your butt off like the election is tomorrow, and you're still 3% behind.
Just like a racehorse can't "lay down" in the home stretch of a race, now is not the time to take any comfort in the polls or anything Hillary does to self-destruct. Now is the time to redouble our efforts. Now is the time to work harder than ever before. Now is the time to man the phone banks, walk the neighborhoods, talk to everyone we know, and do absolutely everything we can to ensure Donald Trump is elected.
The bottom line is very simple. Mr. Trump was not my first choice in the Republican primary. But now that the race is down to two viable candidates, either Donald Trump or the Hildabeast will be the next president of the United States. If it is Mr. Trump, there is a very good chance we may see a real awakening of our country. He is not the perfect candidate but he absolutely has the ability to "Make America Great Again."
Hillary, on the other hand, would probably be the last president of the United States as we know our country.
I know we all like our time here on Free Republic. But let's all spend as much time as we can working in those precincts where the election will be decided. If you are in an important swing state, the work you do could literally determine who was elected. If you're in a state where the presidential race is already pretty well decided, then make the maximum amount of financial contribution you can to the Trump campaign, and then work your butt off getting senators, representatives, assemblyman, even city and county commissioners elected.
I'm in Florida. I'm in Orlando, along the Interstate 4 corridor. It is not unreasonable to say that this election may be decided by the votes cast within 25 miles of my home. For that reason I am now working 50 to 60 hours a week to get Mr. Trump elected.
On the eve of the European invasion, George Patton told his troops that they occupied a unique position in history. They were going to be the ones that set the world free. And he told him as a final side benefit, 50 years from that date, when their grandchildren sat on their knee and asked them what they did in the war, they could tell those grandchildren what they really had done and wouldn't have to tell them that they "shoveled duck shit in Louisiana."
How will you answer when your kids and grandkids ask ”What did you do to same America from Mrs. Clinton.”
I got a pacemaker earlier this year, so this is possibly my one last chance to "fix bayonets and run up the hill." Regardless of your age, this may be the last chance for all of us to save our country.
Washington's men did it at Valley Forge. Patriots have done it since and probably for many of us, our fathers and grandfathers saved the world from Hitler's scourge.
Please, we cannot sit on the sidelines. Ignore the polls. Please let's all work our butts off and save this country yet again!

Good advice!
It’s discouraging knowing that as a living white conservative citizen that I only get one vote. But I will use it!
Furthermore, when Trump wins this will only allow us a little breathing room to work our magic.
The fight isn’t over, and Trump isn’t here to fight all of our fights. What this will do is give us a slight reprieve so that we may go forth to return Christ and God to our nation. To ensure that our nations laws work with God’s laws.
Trump isn’t going to do that. It’s too much for him with a congress who doesn’t like him. It will only allow us a little room to focus on the endgame : The saving of America.
And at some point, bullet drop will become part of our national conversation. President Trump is America’s only hope in the world of conflict.

Staying in first place is always harder than getting there. Now that Trump has moved into the lead it’s time to floor the gas pedal all the way to Nov 8.

Well done, on the above in particular, but also overall. As a pollster (now retired), I hope every conservative will work as hard as possible for the next six weeks, no matter how good (or bad) the polls suggest the election will be. We need to work on get out the vote efforts. We need to volunteer with True the Vote or as an official poll watcher. We need to make phone calls for Trump.
It's not over until the voting is over and not even them. Until President Trump is sworn in, we cannot let up, relax, or get overconfident. We lost the last two presidential battles. If we lose this one . . .
