I have not seen one mention of Clinton referring to trump as ""Donald" thru the debate. Disrespectful! If Trump had called her Hilliary just once he would have been labeled terrible things. Her way of dismissing and making him less significant than her the Queen.
He did. I realized he didn’t address her for the opening handshake until she addressed him as Donald - then he said Hillary. You are correct about the Ford comments - I went back and watched again that part in particular - Hillary and I. She used Donald differently - not wanting to mince words here - but it was my perception that he addressed her more respectfully than she did - especially right off the top.
She went to his wedding. I didn’t find it disrespectful at all.
I actually think that this may have helped him, that he continued to address her with respect, in spite of her lack of respect shown to him.
Smart move on Trump’s part. When Mondale ran against Norm Coleman for the vacant Senate seat, in their debate, Coleman always referred to Mondale as Mr VP. Mondale dismissed Coleman as “Norm”. Mondale came across as a pompous jerk, and Coleman pulled a big upset.
Oh, good. I had not seen that. This is good to know, and I think this showed some class by Ted.
I’ve always noticed Barak Obama does this. He never refers to senators or representatives by their titles when mentioning them to the media. It’s always Joe or Mike or whatever. I think he does it mostly with Republicans. It’s a tactic.
I don’t think he is trying to win their votes.

You call a friend by their first name in an intimate setting.
With people you don’t know, you always call them by their title and Christian name.
Hillary was low class and it showed.
I agree, When I am talking to my father in private it is "Dad" when in public it is "Father".
When I see our pastor in private it is "Bob" when in public it is "Pastor ..." or Reverend ..."
It is called respect and proper behavior, something sorely lacking in public schooled and the political scum.
Yeah, it was patronizing: Hillary is a bigger bitch than Nurse Ratched and it was obvious to viewers of all political stripes.
Sometimes substance is less important than form and this debate was IMHO like a jury scrutinizing a witness’s demeanor.
As my lady dice, a political naif, said, PIAPS came across as smooth, but smug, smarmy while Trump was angry but genuine. But all Trump had to do was keep up with this 40 year veteran of political duckspeak, and he did at least that much.
Btw these hallowed halls were crawling with recrudescent trolls spinning Trump’s awfulness and Hillary’s wonderfulness last night. It was like a Slate thread.
Trump will be loaded for bear next debate and so will we, squeaks the little brown mouse in my vest pocket.

The number has to be in quotation marks....”300” or “400”... you can adjust size by changing that number.
Of course Trump isn’t trying to win their votes, but he’s alienated Japan & China unnecessarily. I know people in Japan and the news presents Trump as “anti-Japan”
Trump needs to tone it down on that issue and rephrase it. Lose the phrase “stealing from us” when referring to Japan & China.
It’s not befitting of a President to accuse your trading partners of being thieves, when the problem is mostly that American workers are not as competitive and we have too many regulations due to Democrats.
He showed respect for the title and she thought she could get a leg up by using the familiar with him.
Did The Donald’s ‘I want you to be comfortable’ come before or after illary started calling him Donald?
