He did say that he’d be in favor of due process for those who are on the list who should not be.

Probable cause should include things like wearing gang colors, running for no apparent reason when police approach, sneaking around in the shadows as if setting an ambush...

Typical criminal behavior.

I want to remind Trump that we don’t take constitutional rights away with one little guy wearing a visor in a back room and putting names on a list!! That is absurd denial of due process. However ,I am smart enough to realize that if he says that people on lists cannot be deprived on constitutional right or the Media will say “ Trump supports terrorists on no fly lists to have guns!!” He played defense well here like the foreign born obama issue ( which he is foreign born as hell) . But Trump has bigger fish to fry so as long as he realizes that the List” crap is patently unconstitutional denial of due process — I’m. fine with the game.

Stop and Frisk is unconstitutional...period.

Those who would give freedom for security will have neither. (paraphrasing)
Benjamin Franklin.

I agree with ol Ben. Sometimes it sux....you know, that whole freedom/probable cause/Constitution thang, but it is our safeguard against tyranny.

DO NOT GIVE THE GUBBAMINT MORE POWER. It already dictates every aspect of your life now....why would you want a more powerful entity that may use it's power to dictate your comings and goings.

Papers please! Vee haff vayz uh makin zew tawk.

It’s all moot when Muslims are allowed entry into the USA. They ALL should be on no fly, no buy lists. They ALL should be under the same restrictions that Christians are under in ISIS controlled territory.

These things already ARE considered probable cause. Gang affiliation..bloods, Crypts, Banditos, Hells Angels, MS-13 and the like are considered organized criminal enterprises prosecutable under RICO.

This is not what they are referring to when they speak of “stop and frisk”. They are referring to a program that looks the other way when officers see someone (white/black/Asian/messy-can) walking down the street at 10pm and they want to shake the guy down.

Notice that he *did* add in something about making sure people on the list really belong there, and making it easier for those who shouldn’t to get off of it.

but he did mention those who were wrongly put on the lists getting assistance to be removed from them.

Due process should occur before you are put on the list. Citizens shouldn't have to fight to get their constitutional rights back AFTER the government puts you on a list to take them away.

Actually, they are wrong.

Trump supported the NRA position that those on terror watch list shouldn’t have guns, but that citizens must have easy access to correcting mistakes on the watch list.

The ability to easily correct mistakes is the issue.

Not giving guns to suspected terrorists seems like a no-brainer, and the NRA agrees...provided you have the corrections issue fixed.

Giving up freedom for perceived safety is not an option. Everyone who disagrees with any administration in power could be put on a list. Either a person is guilty of a crime, or that person is NOT guilty of a crime. Terrorists will get weapons no matter the restrictions.

for both this and "stop and frisk", the key phrase is "political expediency".

My rights are not negotiable.

“He did state that a process was needed to allow those on the no fly list incorrectly could get themselves removed. I have no problem with using the list as long as mistakes can be corrected.”

Even if it costs me my life savings in lawyer fees????
Are you out of your mind!!!

ANYTHING that has you “guilty until proven innocent” is unconstitutional.

The reason i am voting for Trump is his stated stance on the 2nd Amendment period. I am a one issue voter, the 2nd Amendment is a bellweather on what a candidate believes.

If Trump abandones the 2nd Amendment, i will abandon him!

No argument that due process should occur before one is put on the list - that needs to change. The question is, once someone is deemed too dangerous to fly, can that person also be deemed too dangerous to own a gun? I'm not sure there is a rational solution, under current conditions, that also manages to remain constitutional.

Deporting, or a vacation at Gitmo, for those who are not citizens would be a start. Then figure out what to do about citizens who are also exhibiting loyalty to terrorism. We do have treason laws that allow death - how to handle it may not be a smooth road.

They’d ship us off to reeducation camps if they thought they could get away with it. Another reason to own firearms.

Yeah, gotta keep dangerous people like this from owning guns. No due process needed, the government knows what it's doing.
