Finished my Trump sign.
About 1600' x 300'. Visible from Rt. #205 across the Aroostook River and from overhead.
We are directly under the Europe to NYC/BOS great circle route so anyone flying to and from Europe can see my Trump sign right on the US/Canadian border.
Nothing like flying home to the USA and the first thing you see after entering US airspace is a 1/4 mile long Trump sign 25000 ft below!
Wonderful work, Maniac:)
We never lock our house- we have guns. Much safer, not that they've been needed.
No truck needed. We have real roads up here (/sarc). The plows keep everything moving. We are still quite self-sufficient though in comparison with cities.
My wife is a Brooklyn girl who has become a fine specimen of a Maine woman these last 21 years- she's no fishwife or lumberjack but she sure keeps that wood stove going.
Good luck.
Wow, that is huge!! My uncle lives in Limerick, Maine. What a beautiful state.
Could I ask what car you’re driving? I only see flat-beds and those large 4x4s here in mid-coast Maine. (A friend of mine driving a Honda Civic had his fender torn off on the stump of a fir tree. He was driving cavalierly as if at home in Virginia and we giggled behind his back.)
How lucky you are. My firmest friend in Tenant’s Harbor is married to a Bk’lyn girl. (Hope she’s not a bigamist, lol!!!) I’m a NYer, too, so maybe we’re drawn to the region.
That’s fantastic!
Hopefully some landowners with appropriately sloped land near busy highways will take note.
I wonder if Google will blur it out...
yes trucks are popular all over Maine but a sedan does fine IF:
Front wheel drive. Studded tires. Block heater. Most important of all- ground clearance. The lower the belly of a car the sooner it bogs down in deepening snow. Look for underbody height. If you drive a car with 9" of ground clearance, a 6-8" snowstorm is nothing.
Deeper than that? Don't go out till the plow goes by, you damn fool!
Oh, boy! Thanks for the advice. I’ll have to look up all these vehicles because all I know is the lousy car I currently drive. Or maybe I should stay here in the crummy Mid-Atlantic at my age.
Just in time to p*** off all those assorted Lefties flying overhead to and from Europe.
God love you for this, it’s fantastic and you are too!
WAY TA GO!!
Ayup.
I love Maine! I have vacationed in Maine often over the past 35 years or so. Love Governor LePage, too, btw.
Great job. You live in a beautiful place. If you ever meet him, please give Stephen King hell for me. BTW - Do you have a crab boat?
Shoot, I’ve driven our Outback (8.7” ground clearance) right through over 12” of snow.* (Slowly, of course, and we had new / v. good snow tires on it.) The only vehicle that had been by earlier was a 4x4 PU with big ‘ol off road tires: It must have ~ 13-14” ground clearance.
*Granted, that might not work in all conditions. And erring on the side of caution in bad weather IS best.
Pease AFB or Loring AFB
Love the result of your hard work. Thinking of Loring AFB where hubby’s band used to play at the NCO Club. Had many friends in the area. Brings back memories of how much we loved Maine. Pat McGowan, a former member of the legislature, was/is a close friend. We even know how to get to Houlton. Barney’s place on Sibley Pond was our regular overnight stop. Loved that family.
Wow, a crop circle!! Even the aliens are for Trump! The real aliens!!
(Good job, that is awesome.)
Doughty, even realclearpolitics has Maine light red right now! Couldn’t believe it myself.
That surprises me. And if Maine is going that way, it can’t be the only place that is going to surprise us. It’s a good omen I think.
Thank you Yaelle.
Presque Isle is my hubby's home town. He still has lots of family there. He is thrilled with your sign, too!
