Corrupt Lester Holt shows why Americans are sick of media
American Thinker ^ | September 28, 2016 | M. Catharine Evans

Posted on 09/28/2016 5:19:06 AM PDT by detective

Lester Holt's blatant bias against Donald Trump Monday night held to Hunter S. Thompson's brutal description of journalists and journalism:

Journalism is not a profession or a trade; it is a cheap catch-all for f---offs and misfits – a false doorway to the backside of life.

Holt just proved to tens of millions of Americans that absolute media power corrupts absolutely. If trust and confidence in the media have fallen to the lowest in history, as recently reported, Holt, in his total abandonment of any semblance of objectivity, has lowered both even more.

This bootlicking cog, beholden to his pro-Hillary media masters, didn't bring up Benghazi, the email scandals, the Clinton Foundation slush fund, Huma Abedin's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, or Clinton's connections to the biggest female oppressors on the planet. With no pushback at all, Holt allowed Hillary to reference an irrelevant 1996 beauty pageant winner as an example of Trump's so-called misogyny.

"The vile leftist, Hillary Clinton, was enraged that Donald Trump said a former Miss Universe put on a massive amount of weight. This from a woman who takes money from countries where males marry children, treat women as property, and forbid women to engage in normal activities like going to school and driving."

Just a "set-up" for media appearances of the poor put on beauty queen.

Not a winning campaign effort.

Excellent article... at the same time, Trump missed one oppportunity after another.... if he’s not going to advertise (it’s appears he’s not going to spend massively on ads, even though he should), when having a 100mm audience, he has to pound her, not be meekly on defense all night

A beauty queen that drove her boyfriend somewhere to kill a judge at that. And maybe Trump’s may be a little blunt but a beauty pageant queen gaining 40 lbs IS a big deal if she’s going to be a representative of the pageant. Obviously he got her to lose the weight by calling her Miss Piggy. Hell if she think’s that’s bad she ought to go football practices and hear what the coaches call their players.

"You should be a journalist" is what I will say to the idiots I meet [and perceive as] from now on.

And I thank you, detective, for bringing that thought to mind... I just wish I'd read it longer ago.

Man, I wish he'd have said that back to her during the debate. She would have blown a fuse.

I wish Trump would have been more articulate on this and several other issues during the so called “debate.”

But Clinton had the questions in advance and had Holt helping her.

Trump did well enough and came off as genuine and sincere. Trump came across as caring about America's well being and security.

Clinton came off as artificial and scripted.

Trump won the so called “debate” against a very rigged format. I wish he had done better. But someone can always do better.

I agree, but there is time, and he'll learn from a post mortem of the debate.

Didn’t Lester Holt take over his spot from some other lying leftist media whore? Now what was his name? I plan to forget Lester Holt too.

I have been a journalist for two newspapers. Journalism is a sacred trust.

Lester Holt and damn most of "journalists" in the media have not only violated that trust, they never cared for it to begin with,

America, for the most part, saw that debate for the farce it was. Lester Holt was nothing more than Hillary’s bodyguard in that debate. Hillary recited her answers like a third grader who memorized a poem or passage in a story and was now speaking in front of the class. Setup. She knew the questions ahead of time and knew she could count on Lester to protect her all night long. The American people are telling Hillary and the media what frauds they are by taking Hillary’s “win” and turning it into a gain for Trump.

I had an 8th grade dad come up to me after a lacrosse clinic two weeks ago and say “wow coaches are a little louder with 8th graders.”

I said “the field is over 100yards long and 60 wide. How do you propose everyone spread around this field hear me?”

The joke was all I do with middle school snowflakes is tell them how great they are doing, except for my kid. Wait til that dimwit dad sees me coaching high school. He’s going to need counseling.

All the attacks are distortions to the point of falsehood. Many of them have become "proven" as far as the press is concerned. Trump is a racist for attacking Curiel, being a birther, and disparaging all Mexicans, to pick one example.

I just read that Camp Clinton has an ad with this beauty queen, so you know the debate line was designed to cooperate with the ad. Crooked also trots out Matt Olsen as some sort of counter-terrorism authority.

Trump missed one opportunity after another....

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

I don't think that'll happen again. I don't think he'll be kind the next debate.

Yes. Brian Willaims.

Brian Williams is the only example I can think of where a media person lost his job for lying. I don't think Williams was fired for lying during a newscast.

Dam Rather lost his job,did but that was for systematically lying during newscasts about false evidence that was easily disproved. Rather then covered up the truth. And Rather and Mapes only lost their job after a long investigation.

BS. That is a self-serving myth dished up by the press for its own benefit. Anybody who trusts the press is a fool.

When the stakes are high, people are encouraged to get second opinions from doctors, lawyers, and engineers; lines of work that implicate substantially more skill and trust than "reporting observations and statements."

These days, a report from the press is more likely to be false than to be true. "Sacred trust" my ass.
