IIRC, another one came out of the Crown Heights riot. During the “venting”, people called reporting home invasions by rioters.....no response from NYPD. Homeowners lost ensuing law suit.

Many years ago; I was the #1 call for our alarm system downtown Detroit. About 3AM I was heading home on a hot summers night on Mount Elliot at Warren.

There was a crowd of maybe two dozen people standing in the road as I approached the red light. My right foot engaged the turbo in my Dodge Daytona making it pretty obvious what I was doing.

Didn't hit anybody. I think it was about a 35MPH limit blowing through a red light at nearly twice that speed accelerating from only a few blocks away.

Run their sorry asses over.

This, in so many words, is what Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit) tweeted at the time. Twitter deleted his tweet and suspended him for a day or two. Meanwhile, someone reported him to his bosses (Glenn is a law professor at the Univ of Tennessee). The University announced an investigation was underway and ultimately said this was a free speech matter with no further actions.

That’s farther west than where I am from (N. Ga originally). But I keep some hunting property about halfway between Memphis and Nashville. Don’t get that way much but will definitely let you know if I make it to your side of the state.

There is always revenue enhancement. Part of what got Ferguson in trouble.

That sounds good. I grew up between Memphis and Nashville and will probably head east when we retire. A few years ago my in-laws sold their cabin and 40 acres near the TN River and I miss it.

A depraved Soros mob, 70% out-of-state according to arrest records.

Even big rig truckers were unnerved by the melee, calling 911 to report that they were trapped in their trucks as looters opened their trailers and stole their cargo. “They’re breaking into my truck, the mob out here,” one trucker told Charlotte police. “I can’t move. There’s a whole mob of people, I’m not kidding. Yep, they’ve taken everything. They’ve got the whole road blocked.”

Odd how the effers at the New York Times didn't run with this story...

I was a ornery little twerp when I was in college. The neighbor kids insisted on playing baseball or football in the street of a country road. They had a front yard with lawn that is twice as big as my current city property. But still they insisted on playing in the street.

When you would come up the road they wouldn’t move. They continued playing the game as if you weren’t there. So I got sick of their oblivious little attitudes. I would creep up on them until I was an inch or so off of their butt. Then lean on the horn. That usually scared them sufficiently to move. Sometime I would have to do that twice just to get through. I told them that I had a running count going on how many kids I had hit with my car. They started learning to leave the street when they saw me coming. In fact I would fly up the street so fast that they would scatter when they saw me coming.

Several other neighbors noticed and wanted to know how I managed to get them to move and to clear my path when I drove up the street. They started doing it also.

The mother was not too happy with me and decided to have words with me. I calmly pointed out that they had a HUGE yard to play football or baseball. I also suggested that she call the police on me, that I would love to talk to them about her kids. The police did come out one time, but it didn’t involve me, one of the other neighbors called on them. I don’t think that they played games in the street after that.

Years ago one of my neighbors was a corrections officer. The neighbor on the other side of him was looney tunes. They had words one day. The looney guy decided to try to kick in their front door the next morning at 2 AM.

He called 911 and got out his service weapon. The 911 operator asked him about weapons and when he informed her that he had it out and ready, she told him to put it away. She told him several times that he HAD to put it away. He told her that he wasn’t going to do that, that if the guy made it through the door he was going to be shot, and if she said it one more time, she was going to be hearing the dial tone. She didn’t say it again.

Sounds just like the Rodney King Riots.

Mayor at the time = Democrat?

Yep!

Having been in LA during those riots, the first night being not far from where it started and having a nightmare getting home then spending the rest of the week near K-town on a rooftop with a rifle, I learned a lot too.

A few years later, I moved to Texas to reduce the likelihood of having to do that again. Not too long after I got here, I bought a firearm that checked all the boxes on the wishlist I came up with while laying on that roof with a rifle. It’s a Saiga 12 - a 12 gauge, detachable mag fed, semiautomatic combat shotgun based on the AK-47 rifle family. 20+ round drums are available for it (as are many different capacity stick magazines) and mag changes are fast.

Best thing I can think of for dispersing an angry mob/eliminating a crowd of would be looters by yourself. Illegal in California, of course; can’t have effective tools for resisting Democrat voters, ya know? :P

Some trailer ‘locks’ are just like those little crimp seals that close cable boxes on buildings.

"One involves thieves popping open the rear doors of a trailer and pulling out boxes of cargo – while the rig is sitting at a traffic light. True story. A trucking company that had been plagued with losses in the neighborhood video taped the incident, says a marketing executive at a security equipment manufacturer who saw the tape. What's pitiful about that incident, and others that aren't so well documented, is that the doors couldn't have been opened so easily had they been locked. Look at trucks and tractor-trailers going up and down the roads and parked at rest areas and truckstops, and you'll see plenty of unsecured cargo doors."

"I understand they got their orders from the Mayor and the other Democrats in power."

TO ARMS..! TO ARMS.!! THE DIMOCRAPS ARE COMING...!!

When we are setting in a car with our family and become afraid for our lives, well it's time to push on the accelerator and protect your love ones at all cost... If a bunch of thieving, murdering, stinking dimocraps get killed in the process, well better them then our own family...

As John Wayne would say.. "A mans got to do what a mans got to do."

MHO.. :(
