This election cycle, a huge percentage of voters are voting against who they hate/distrust the most. People dislike Hillary Clinton and think shes a criminal who is above the law and disdains average voters. People worry that Donald Trump has bad judgment and makes stupid decisions.
In an odd way, this made the Vice Presidential debate more important. Most years, youre deciding between the two main candidates, but what if you dislike and distrust both? The deciding factor can be the Vice President.
For the fence-sitters, Mike Pence made the decision easy: Even-tempered and reasonable, factual and clear-headed, informed and sympathetic, Mike Pence sounded like he could be president. He was reassuring. Tim Kaine made Hillarys job harder, not easier. He was rude, disrespectful, lied and was just generally a jerk. He looked juvenile and defensive.
Some talking heads are arguing that Pences competence outshines Donald Trumps and reveals Trumps weaknesses. In fact, thats the narrative the lefty media is building right now. They can try, but that argument falls flat. Trumps decision to hire to his weaknesses with Mike Pence shows leadership ability. Its the first big choice a candidate makes. His decision to pick Mike Pence shows excellent judgment. If his choice of Veep indicates his decision-making as president, Trump is the good manager he claims to be.
Hillary Clintons decision to pick a toady like Kaine also demonstrates her judgment. Hes as likable as hernasty, aggressive and hostile. So two unlikable Democrats. Swell.

Normally, VP debates are not that big of a deal, but with the age of the presidential candidates this time, they are more relevant.
That's what I thought in 2008. Didn't quite work out so well...
Hillary - Shrill and unlikeable.
Kaine - Creepy and unlikeable.
Trump - Passionate and likeable.
Pence - Courteous and likeable.
Kaine didn’t do Hillary any good last night,
Pence the STANCHER!!
The wife of a friend of mine has been on the fence the entire campaign. She hates Hillary but Trump makes her nervous. Last night decided it for her, she loves Pence and it was enough to make her pull the lever for Trump. I’ve seen other such comments on social media.
Because this is such a different election I believe last night mattered. Big Time. I think a lot of fence sitters made up their minds last night and it wasn’t for Killary.
Pence was Trump’s decision.
I agree and people do not want Kaine near the presidency. It’s a shame the “Trump as a problem” meme is taking hold. Without Trump there was no hope of shaking things up, even with Pence who didn’t run on his own anyway.
I remember Bush making Geraldine Ferraro look
really bad as an angry mean btch during the VP debate. That was key too in that election.
I’ll vote for Trump in spite of his VP pick.
Pence isn’t bad, but I want a Trump II administration beginning in 2024, and Pence ain’t it.
Indeed, the VP pick matters. Bush helped Reagan the second time around making Ferraro look like
a crazed angry btch. After that democrats went after Bush’s VP
There’s some people who can’t see as clearly as we can. For whatever reason Trump scares them. In my opinion they’re either simply wishy washy, listen to the MSM too much or it’s something else entirely.
O.M.G. I love it!!
Agree. Truly undecideds if paying attention should view this as a positive for Trump and a negative for PIAPS/Baroness Harkkonen.
Kinda makes me want to pop a big zit...
Kinda makes me want to pop a big zit...
This morning it dawned on me. Kaine is like that obnoxious kid in high school that everybody sort of tolerated but nobody liked.
