UN makes power play against Trump
The Hill ^ | Oct. 5, 2016 | Devin Henry

International governments have made a power play against Donald Trump by ratifying an international climate deal earlier than expected, effectively preventing him from “canceling” the deal as he has promised to do.  The European Union’s Tuesday decision to join the Paris climate deal will push the deal over the threshold for ratification; it will formally take effect in 30 days.

That means Trump, should he be elected president in November, could not “cancel” or renegotiate the terms of the agreement.

President Obama committed the United States to reduce its emissions by 26 percent to 28 percent by 2025 as part of the deal. The agreement is nonbinding, so Trump would be free to ignore it if he wins the White House.

The key is to get Trump in there to appoint the kind of judges who will AFFIRM that Obama has no power to do this on his own.

Get the UN out of the US, send it to Brussels or wherever, send the US Marshals in to clear the place out and Trump turn it into a new Trump Tower II- the new Job Creation Think Tank Building.

There is no agreement, it was never ratified by Congress. Trump can tell them to F-off.

They can have all the toothless symbolic international agreements that they want as long as we can just ignore them. Their misanthropic vanity complex will be satisfied, and we can all go on living like an advanced species. Win-win

It would be nice to see the UN building in Manhattan bulldozed into the East River and a public park for American Exceptionalism take its place.

Odumbo will be staying in DC after his term is up. He will strive to take the Trump Administration to court on anything that would reverse the Obama administration tragedies. He will strive for everything to be stacked by liberal judges. When the Senate goes on recess, so he will appoint a ninth judge and use his last days to try and ramrod the liberal agenda through!

If it’s not a treaty passed by the Senate then it is not worth anything.

This article is BS. The fact the Congress hasn’t ratified it means this article is an unnecessary waste of ink, and time to read it.

BS to this article, not you. All Trip needs to do is conclude the fake “deal” is a treaty that needs to be ratified by the Senate and refuse to comply with it because it hasn’t been ratified.

The House and Senate make laws. The Senate ratifies treaties. The president signs legislation and treaties.

Did I miss something, Devin?

“UN” and “power play” is an oxymoron (a stupid cow). I think it’s past time for the U.N. to disband. Let’s leave the U.N. And give ‘em 6 months to move their HindQuarters out of New York

“nonbinding” makes for a pretty weak power play

This “agreement” if it is not deemed as a Treaty, then the President has all the authority to commit the USA to it. This is how the Iran Deal was legally shoved down our collective throats. The WH deemed it was not a treaty and therefore under the auspices of the Executive branch not the legislative branch which ratifies treatises. We may not like this because of the person in the WH but this speaks to the office of that man. Remember what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. If Trump should be elected and this is an agreement under the executive branch, then Trump can tear this up with a swipe of the pen. Remember the next President will have a pen and phone too!
