Well, by 1983 George Wallace had repudiated his segregationiust past, and in fact was elected to his last term in office as Governor in the 1980s with African American support. So their presence at his table in 1983 does not bring up the connotations that you imply - had it been 1963, it would have been a different story, of course...

Logically, there was a time Wallace was mainstream. By today’s standards, he was a full blown racist.
Now if one can dredge up an 11 year old tape of Donald, talking in the vernacular of that day, I think it is fair game to post this photo of Bubba, Bush and Wallace every where one can. They were the “establishment” of their day.
