I think that depends on which state you’re in. In my state, Indiana now, at the primary time I just have to tell them which party I want to use for the primary. I can vote in either one.

There isn’t going to be another gop primary. The party as we know and loathe it committed suicide over the weekend.

That depends on what state you're in.

Here in the benighted commonwealth of Massachusetts, registered Independents can vote in either party's primary.

That's why I had no qualms about leaving the Republican Party and registering as an Independent in 2015, after watching in horror as the Republicans completely turned their backs on the conservative voters who gave them solid majorities in both houses of congress.

I just re-register as Pubbie right before the Primaries. Then move back afterword. It is easy to do online here in San Diego.
