Okay, so I need to share a story that happened to a couple of my brother’s friends back in the 80s:
“Dan” was popular with the ladies, as was “John”. Neither had any problems finding girlfriends or casual partners with whom to enjoy sexual activities.
At one point they had both slept with the same girl around the same general timeframe. Dan came down with some unpleasantries in the genital region and had to go to the doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Yes, it was curable. No, I didn’t ask specifically what it was that he had caught. Being friends with John, Dan told him that he should go get checked out.
John went to the doctor and was told that the test involved having one of those big wooden Q-tips inserted in his urethra so they could get a culture for the lab. He said it was remarkably painful. A short while later the doctor (or nurse, I don’t remember and it’s not relevant) came back in and said “I have some bad news.” John thought it was going to be word of a positive test result but it turns out that the swab had gotten contaminated and they needed to repeat the procedure, further abusing his already-unhappy urethra. Evidently, jamming a large wooden Q-tip up in the pee hole twice in a short time frame is not something anyone wants to experience.
The only good news is that his test eventually came back and he hadn’t caught an STD.
So the moral of the story is: Never vote for a Democrat. Or something like that...
