Does anyone know if there are lots of speeches before the two candidates and if so when do the candidates typically speak?
Is that the kid from Mad Magazine?
Trump should refuse to go!
First catholic candidate for President. Wonder if Hitlery will be yucking it up with any catholic jokes.
One tradition I’d like to see ended.
Why would Trump waste his time doing this. All in the hell it is is a big party where the Archbishop of NYC can get drunk with pro-abortion politicians. Pro-lifers shouldn’t be caught dead attending it.Dolan is an embarrasment to the Catholic Church.
Alfred Smith was the former governor of New York back in the 1920’s, rival of FDR. This is the annual foundation dinner to raise money for Catholic Charities. One of the elite events to go to. Anyone and everyone in New York Politics, including the Catholic Cardinal of New York will be there.
The remarks by Hillary and Trump will be biting and scathing, along with funny. Tradition always has the Smith dinner invite the Presidential Candidates.
Trump will wipe the floor with her.He can tell good jokes, she can’t. This will be better than last nite’s debate.
Trump will shine and she will fall flat.
Very much worth watching, I have seen past ones and they are hilarious.
Trump should just read Podesta’s anti-Catholic emails and then ask her if this is just her “private” thoughts.
Clinton, Trump to face off again at Al Smith Dinner
I have doubts that Trump is a comedic-speaker. I doubt that he would be able to refrain from further attacks on Hillary. Now I would not mind it if a candidate actually used his time to the truth rather than try to get yucks which he probably won’t get anyway as everyone will be sitting on their hands.
There’s a Twitter feed just for this:

Should be interesting.

Al Smith Dinner Bound to Be Especially Awkward for Clinton, Trump
Don’t worry. House rules, no political speeches.

They totally dissed Obama’s brother at the debate, making him sit in the back. Can he sit at the head table tonight?
I recall watching this with Obama and Romney and it was a good event - mostly telling jokes. Pretty funny.
Alfred bump
Actually I look forward to the Annual Donner Pass All You Can Eat Dinner. No broccoli!
Is this the live thread for it?
