Thirteen people died Sunday morning after a tour bus slammed into the back of a big rig on Interstate 10 near Palm Springs while returning to Los Angeles from a casino near the Salton Sea.
The Riverside County Coroner's office identified 11 of the victims Monday morning. Thirty one others were injured in the predawn crash, which shut down the westbound side of the freeway at Indian Canyon Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol. They were believed to be sleeping when the bus collided with the tractor-trailer truck shortly after 5 a.m., CHP Chief Jim Abele said at a news conference Sunday.
The bus, which had 43 passengers, was on its way back from Red Earth Casino in Salton Sea Beach and its driver was among those killed, Abele said. All victims were adults, the chief described the survivors' injuries as minor to moderate and said the big rig's driver also suffered minor injuries.
Teams remain at scenes for as long as necessary and it could take 18 months before a drafted report is sent to board members. Abele did not give the nationalities of the victims, but said authorities were in contact with consular officials of Mexico, Japan and Australia and that most of the passengers were Latino. He said authorities have struggled to identify some of the passengers and contact their families, partly because some of them were not carrying "valid" identification.

My girlfriend and I were several cars back when a Greyhound Reno gamblers tour hit an overpass column in 1973. We pulled off to help a man lower injured people to the ground. I think there were 12 or 13 that were killed in that wreck too. We got married the next year and have been ever since.

I’m not even convinced it was a terrorist. They claimed there was no Navy presence in the area. We later found out that there had been exercises in that area. I’m not sure what happened, but I am sure what we were told was closer to a cartoon than fact. The CIA video didn’t help. It was laughable.

Trust me. 2 brothers who were NY detectives. One talked to an FBI diver. They said it was a missle.
The other saw a fax that came into the precinct. Be on the look out for a stolen boat that a missle could be launched from.

Too many witnesses giving accounts from around that bay, that all saw something in the same location from different perspectives.

Yes, I do remember it and the photos stick out in my mind.
It amazed me that the building was left standing. Of course photos can sometimes convey a false impressing as to exactly how much damage is done in an incident like that. It looked severe to me.

Yes, sure, there may have been dereliction of duty. Is it reasoned to think another attempt would follow? Well sure. I believe the aircraft alternative was probably due to increased security regarding access to parking under the building though.
At any rate. Thanks for the response. I’m not trying to defend Clinton as much as just wanting to understand what prompted the comment he knew of 09/11 before it happened.

The man who wrote the book was the man who carried the football for the scumbag. He was in the oval office and saw a report on the desk that stated terrorist were talking about flying planes into buildings. He never pulled the trigger on osama even though he had 12 chances to kill him.
