Do they have the data broken down by race in Florida? The Florida department of elections only has the voters broken down by party affiliation.

Yes. They mailed out, apparently, about 300,000 more absentees in 2016.

You are starting to make me a believer.

This is CLEARLY the result of the hurricane slowing down mail, taking peoples’ minds off the election. For example, I know a fellow on the east coast who spent days boarding up his property, and even though he was spared, the winds caused damage to his five acres and it took him a week to dig out, clear trees, etc. The last thing people think about is mailing in a ballot at that time.

I now think it PERHAPS might not be impossible to get to 82-3% returns, but I still think the margin of 3% is optimistic. Doable, but we’ll see.

I have had a sneaky suspicion for quite a while now that North Carolina will decide the election.

Right now we’re at 50% of R advantage in absentees in 2012. But the hurricane affected returns as we are seeing returns come in much faster now. Speedy is saying we could likely hit 90-95% of 2012 returns.

I think we still may eclipse 2012 because of the impact of the hurricane slowing mail, slowing people’s response in mailing in absentees, etc. It won’t be much better if we get there, but then again, it is highly likely that Trump is getting at least +5% of indies (1.5m) or another 75,000 there.

Where is the 2016 absentee mailed statistic? It’s not on the FL Sec State page, replaced by “provided vote by mail” which is NOT absentees cause Rs were way over 1.2m last I looked. Now it’s 700,000?

I live in Fayetteville, NC. The AA early vote is waaaaay down. Trump will win NC. I know a lot of registered D’s on the Trump Train.

They subtract the mail ballots cast so you are left with the mail ballots outstanding which is that 700,000 number.

Here in Volusia County, Fl you can pretty much track the ballot from when they send to you, when they receive it back and again when they actually tabulate it.

556,000 vote-by-mail ballots cast by GOP. 704,000 vote-by-mail ballots left to be cast by GOP. Total vote-by-mail ballots for GOP is 1.25 million. Hope that helps.

Yes, decreased AA turnout so far in NC and Ohio.
