For those of you still reading this thread, let's close it up with a few unhinged comments from the Oregon Live comments section, for your amusement and contemplation.

We lose , this gives these TERRORISTS free reign to do anything they want , The People of America lose!!!!! These people are URBAN TERRORISTS and will not stop here, they will be back to do more damage!!!

I can see two explanations for this unexpected verdict.

1. the jury contains sufficient sympathisers. They ignored the law.

2. the guns and general crazy behaviour of the Bundy's terrified the jury. They were afraid they would be killed if they convicted them.

@maxneopayne I'm not melting down, though I am depressed that men with guns could come to our state, try to steal our public lands, and get away with it.

This is your loss as much as ours. It's a blow to the rule of law in our nation, and it will just encourage other lunatics to pick up a weapon, cloak themselves in self-serving patriotism, and try to forcibly take from us anything that they think they're owed. And the next time that happens, there's a good chance that they won't have a political agenda with which you happen to agree. Maybe then, you'll realize just how terrible this verdict really was for all of us.

More Federal charges coming down. Many incriminated themselves and others under oath.

So these folks who have been released, Fry, Banta, Cox et all, are they going to become productive citizens? Will Fry go back to sweeping his Daddy's floors, will Banta get a job and keep it? And what will the TrenchWenches and Walmarthas be doing before the next trials?

You guys joke about it, but those of you without guns need to learn from this. Go buy guns. If you're a pacifist, we tried it your way. This was the result. It will be the same in Nevada. The only way to fight these people is to take up guns against them. The FBI will NOT do it.

They will go on thinking they won something until the DOJ hauls them back in after reviewing testimony from this case. Statute of Limitations is a Karmic Bee-otch.

I'm hoping the IRS starts paying attention to them.

A sickening miscarriage of justice.

When the next grab-bag of good ol' boy trash kkkicks up their heels, they'll feel even more entitled to do so than this last sorry gaggle of goons. Enjoy.

Of course there were some good guys pointing out the obvious, I'll close with one of those:

Mr Correct 11 hours ago I just can't believe that the 25,000 comments from 1300 different commenters on this story got it exactly wrong. You guys are obviously no good at predicting what the rest of us saw as an inevitable acquittal. You aren't any better at voting. Do us all a favor and start making decisions based more on logic, less on emotion. We'll all be better off.

There is an article from the Oregonian regarding an email from Juror #4 who sent them an email following the verdict, explaining how the jury came to the Not Guilty conclusion. I have tried 4 times to copy the link and paste it here but Google closes every time I try.

Can one of you post it? It may have it’s own FR thread already. I will check.
