Republicans immediately consumed with gusto Fridays news that FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congressional leaders informing them that his agency was reviewing new information relating to the Hillary Clinton email case. They gleefully declared that the FBI had reopened the email investigation. While this is a misleading exaggeration of Comeys admittedly vague letter, the political use that GOP partisans have made of it illustrates why public releases of information relating to pending investigations of public figures up for election have traditionally been withheld.

is not policy
Their wanting someone to adhere to this particular tradition is just more proof that they are total hypocrites.
“It’s just a ‘review’”
Nothign to see here...
The characterizations fit, but this shames the original actors.
It’s not an ‘invvestigation’.. they are just looking into it.
The FBI means “Federal Bureau of looking into things”
“Where do I go to get my reputation back...”
Then why did Comey publicly announce in July that the FBI would not pursue a case against Hillary Clinton despite admitting that she could have been indicted with the evidence they had in hand?
And why was the FBI given the authority to make this decision, when their role is not to make decisions like this but to investigate potential crimes and turn the evidence over to a prosecutor?
Someone posited that the reason it was released at this time was to protect Hillary; so they could say that as part of an ongoing investigation the content of the emails in question could not be revealed.
Exactly, the evidence was there to indict, but the corrupt partisan DOJ refused to follow the law.
When I read your post, I immediately visualized Federal agents putting handcuffs on Hillary.
Skipping the instant players, what is the point of this policy anyway? To allow the public to vote for crooks? Or are the investigatory agencies admitting they use the law for political gain, and to “stifle” public awareness of that fact, they refrain from playing politics in the political season?
Minor Mistake? Error in judgment?
Huma had 650,000 emails stashed on that machine! More than any human being could ever read in the time she’s worked for Hillary.
Either she was engaged in a major espionage operation, or was planning to blackmail the Clintons (for Allah-only-knows what purpose).
In other words, never let out news of corrupt DemocRats leak out withing 6 months of an election or the people might care.
I thought that’s what an investigation is....looking into things. Investigating.
Expect this one sided shit all week. Any paper with “Bee” in their name is devout communist. Bee is short for Bolshevik. I remember those awful papers in Califoria. Looks like Podesta has been up all night giving orders to the media cockroaches.
Any news about Weiner-gate is bad news for Hillary.
The “attack Comey” strategy has blown up in their faces.
The Clinton flesh-eating disease is spreading, consuming everything in its path.
Too late for Boobamba to save himself. He's next under the FBI microscope. It's impossible for God-fearing Americans to believe that Boobamba had no idea what was going on. A president gets top-level intel on every facet of govt, on a daily basis.
> Minor Mistake? Error in judgment?
According to the media, espionage and blackmail are minor if done by a D.
I’m still wondering if the “minor mistake” of illegally possessing FBI files on 100s of people early in Bills first term has anything to do with the excuses we’re seeing from the DOJ and FBI now. And it would be nice if a real journalist would look into who those files were on and how many more 1000s of similar docs the Clintons have “accidently” collected since.
Appeared briefly on google for pathological liar search.
Grab it - it's a rare keeper as political memorabilia.
