11 minute video only. (Full disclosure: I am not a fan of Ted Cruz and have been one of his fiercest critics.)
Ted gave a rousing speech and was well received by the crowd in Iowa. He was the introductory speaker for Mike Pence at an outdoor event. He stuck almost exclusively to the issues and here are the highlights.
1. 2nd Amendment- Heller decision and importance of SCOTUS.
2. Obamacare disaster for coverage, choice and premiums.
3. IRS abolish it and go with the Flat Tax
4. Hillary's lies and corruption - met with 'lock her up' chants.
5. Radical Islamic terrorism -call it by it's name.
6. Elect Sen. Chuck Grassley & all Republicans on the ticket.
7. Don't let Hillary Clinton get back into the WH & GOTV.
8. But, strangely, no Donald, or Trump name, or words of praise.
A simple- Make America Great Again- would have been good to hear.
The finale, "Please welcome my friend, the next VP of the USA, Mike Pence."
Neither did Reagan of Ford at the convention...omg the sky is falling!!!
Newsflash!!!! Running for the presidency since 92 and forward has ALWAYS been about the person running. You have to have an ego as big as Alaska to run for the presidency. Please don’t tell me that not a single cantidate since 92 including the present doesn’t have an ego. Please tell me you understand that
There are solid reasons to dislike the guy here, but we are not his Iowa or Prairie State base. We are not among the 8 million that voted for him. Those votes are important when they are in the right places, like Iowa, WI, CO, MI, or NV.
Trump wanted Cruz there and obviously agreed to let him stump for him. His campaign is working to get those crucial votes. Ted is one way of making that happen. DJT can not be everywhere in the final week and folks are loyalists to him.
Ted flew there, got behind the big Trump/Pence sign and delivered a great supportive speech outlining issues as they relate to a voter’s choice.
He did very good with that element. If he’s doing this to boost his own personal and political life, so be it. Most candidates are in a similar boat. If not, they are often angling for a cabinet position.
And whether any of us like him or not, he’s convincing with his GOTV delivery. Too bad Ted forgot to bring Heidi:
5 votes.....,10 votes....., 20 votes.......,100 votes......., whatever you can, Iowa.
Just heard on Cavuto that Cruz is giving another speech in MI and finally starting saying Trump’s name. smh.
You’re right.
I should not have put that in the transcript, which I wrote. No one watches the videos in their entirety.
They never would have known the difference if I hadn’t made that statement of fact. But it bugged me because I was waiting to hear him shout a good solid endorsement for DJT.
He will eventually utter it, I’m sure. Time to line up with the winner.
Lol, Cruz:
If your premiums under Obamacare have gone DOWN by $2500, then vote for the democrats. Pretty good.
“Maybe he’d be useful in Wisconsin or Colorado as well. “
Indeed, Ted needs to come to Colorado.
“Ted flew there, got behind the big Trump/Pence sign and delivered a great supportive speech outlining issues as they relate to a voters choice.”
Sure. Vote your conscience.
He’s still a worm, and will never get another vote from this Texan.
Have you not heard about the "Never Trump" movement? Cruz was talking to them. You want the maximum number of votes, no?
"disrespectful" - did you miss the primaries? Jeezzz.
Well said, some however you’ll never convince; typically those with linear thinking.
He said bad thing.
Bad thing get no vote.
He stump for my cantidate.
He said bad thing.
Bad thing get no vote.
Linear
The guy is still so pizzy, he can’t so much as speak Trump’s name. If you want him, then fine. But he needs to be gone Tuesday at 7 pm.
I’m not pro-Cruz by any stretch. Perspective, people. Perspective. The witch needs to go down on Tuesday. That is far more important than any reservations we might have about Sen. Cruz.
