What he's reeling from is the full "weight" of his lame-duckness. Presidential power and authority, which was accorded him out of deference to the Office he occupied has just been ripped from him so fast that he must be breathless.
Obama is now just a spectator to history. He's spent 8 years surrounded by flatterers and that's now gone overnight. The power establishment's entire focus is now focused on Trump.
