France’s Foreign Minister said Wednesday Europe must not flinch in protecting European interests from President-elect Donald Trump.

“We have to meet the challenge for a Europe that must be able to better defend its citizens and its interests,” French Foreign Minsiter Jean-Marc Ayrault told French media. Ayrault called Trump’s statements on foreign policy “confused” and shocking to traditional U.S. allies.

I don’t know why Merkel and France think Trump cares about their getting tough with him and maybe their lines in the sand.

He should just ignore them until they come to him with beret or hajib in hand begging for some kind of handout or other assistance with their problems.

We pay for their defense, freeing up their resources to develop their socialism, which then encourages our socialists. Eff ‘em.

You’re on your own, surrender monkeys.

Wearing a beret doesn’t make a Frenchman tough. It takes guts, training, and a willingness to fight. Just read about the disbanded French Foreign Legion survivors and our Green Berets.

Ayrault’s version of “getting tough” means wearing a “Raspberry Beret” and drinking a hot coffee latte’ with cream, 1939 style.

They put on a nice front, but deep down they are scared *** as they know Marie Le Pen is gunning for their jobs. Also a bit ironic as French government is the most anti-Muslim in Europe - confining the Syrian refugees in Calais camps, banning burkas, etc. Or maybe they just have Stockholm syndrome after being bombed so many time. Or maybe they know Trump is going to mess up their new deals with Iran.

Too true. The Foreign Legion though is just that, foreigners. There are tough French though: I don’t mean to malign those ones. But they don’t seem to be in charge.

Oh really? France is now not a country but a vassal region of Europe.

Say good riddance of TAFTA, CETA and all this BS

I just “love” how these parasites spin their need for US market and favors into being tough with the US

Trumps win boosted the status of Marine LePen. She will be the next President of France.

Fine. When moslems start blowing up your people and infrastructure... don’t call us to pull your multi-culti chestnuts out of the fire.
