Get a head start on it. Took 6 months for my renewal....last 3 of which was expired. In NC, you can still carry on an expired license as long as you’re seeking renewal. You just can’t buy any new toys using your CCW.
Lots of people getting them now.
The benefits of living in a small mostly republican county is small government, people who know everybody and public servants that actually serve.
The first I renewed by Cobb County license which took about 5-6 months to get here up in Pickens, I walked into the Probate Court office of the clerk and one of the nice ladies said “what do you want Honey?” I told her and she said here, fill this out and take this form over to the county police station to get your background and fingerprints (this took a short drive and about 20 minutes) and they signed off on the form and when I got back to the PC clerk’s office she had it waiting there and laminated for me and I paid and walked out. Not more than an hour I’d say.
The second time they said it would take longer because they’re going to a new holo-ID and the company that processes them in up to 10 days, so that was what I had to wait. The Probate Clerk and the County Police do their stuff right on the spot. Cobb County tells you to STFU and take it and you’ll get it when you get it. Big difference!
BTW Cobb County voted for Hillary this time. Absolutely amazing!
