Or a sadist type of family. Who would name a child something that sounds like rancid? Can you imagine the teasing he got growing up - but maybe that toughened him up.

It’s just a German name...sort of. “Reince” is a nickname for his real first name, Reinhold, which is fairly commonplace in Germany. Hey it’s better than “Reiny,” which they conceivably might have gone with.

The name Reince is probably a family name made into a first name, like the name Joy Morton, a male, had. His mother’s maiden last name was Joy. (We’re related to that family too.) My great grandmother had a brother named Masury (looks like misery to me) He was named after a grandmother’s maiden name. By the way Masury is an ancestor of Hugh Hefner, which makes me a third or fourth cousin to Hefner, whom I have never met, by the way.
