I’d think the only problem with that would be
1. they haven’t been charged with a crime and
2. they haven’t been named.
A pardon would not make them legal residents.
Idiots.
There is no status here to pardon.
How do people with no status, in the law make any kind of demands?
He can’t grant them legal status ... sucks to be them ...
*****Millions of law abiding undocumented immigrants*****
Almost like saying ‘millions of convicted felons’ demand to be released from prison.
I believe this is the definition of oxymoron.
Sure. Report to this center near you.
And I say...warp speed Mr. Sulu.
LOL... illegals don’t have a clue about pardons.
First: He can only pardon US citizens.
Second: He can only pardon for Federal crimes.
Third: He can only pardon for past crimes, and an ongoing crime of being here illegally cannot be pardoned, since the crime is ONGOING.
Millions of law abiding undocumented immigrants...”
WTF? They’re NOT ‘law-abiding!’ They’ve BROKEN THE LAW just by BEING here!
They are not “law abiding” undocumented immigrants. They are illegals.
With all these calls for pardons, I am thinking that we need a constitutional amendment that limits the power of the pardon to those who have been convicted in a court of law. Each pardon limited to one person and limited by requiring the pardon specify the conviction to be pardoned.
If they’ve done nothing wrong, why are they seeking a pardon?
Illegal aliens are NOT immigrants.
Immigrants are people who applied in their home country to be Americans, paid their fees, waited their turn, learned the language and complied with the laws.
Illegal aliens broke into our country and our laws say they should be deported.
It is their own fault they face deportation.
The smart ones will return to their own countries and apply if they want to be Americans.
If we have to deport them, it will be 10 years before they can apply for proper entry.
President Obama COULD theoretically pardon them for the criminal liability of the felony of illegal entry, welfare fraud, identity theft, ect but he cannot issue resident status or citizenship via a pardon.
A strong argument could be made that illegal aliens, while being entitled to some rights after being arrested by the criminal justice system, are not entitled to blanket preemptive pardons for jurisdictional reasons.
Sure. Just tell all 750,000 to head on down to mexico city, and we’ll get right back to them.
After all, he's the one who goes about bragging about how many illegals he's deported.
Their best path to citizenship would have been to embrace the ideals of this country and preach em to everyone
If they are law abiding, then what is there to pardon?
