The press and Democrats are already primed to go after Sessions on charges of racism in the 1980’s. Sessions failed to obtain Senate approval for his nomination in 1986 for a federal judgeship due to testimony at the time he made racist comments. Here’s a link to a CNN article from the past 24 hours. Chuck Schumer must be licking his chops at the prospect of fighting this nomination. Do McConnell and the squishy moderate GOP Senators have the desire or backbone for an ugly fight to confirm Sessions?

McConnell doesn’t know what it’s like to have his feet held to the fire yet. Trump is on this and Sessions knows where the leverage is kept.
