I had a business meeting in NYC recently and the several guys I was meeting with said they never went to Broadway for shows. One lawyer from NJ had never been. A senior bank VP had not been for 15 years and then only to take his relative from the midwest to see a show.
Hence, I am surprised that the audience reacted as they did, shamefully, since that is mostly a NY style.
Of course, the actors are morons.
How did the cast know he would be there?
Haha! I’ve been boycotting Broadway since I was a kid!
Theatre type ‘acting’ turned me off at an early age, despite a strong appreciation for (and an education in) the English literature at the root of much Broadway theatre; notably, Shakespeare.
There is something about the personality types that gravitate toward the theatre. They definitely tend to be raging liberals, verging on if not deeply afflicted with mental illness.
Extremely huge egos; arrogant, superior and self-absorbed, yet using their acting skills in real life to feign modesty, self doubt and concern for the helpless and downtrodden.
Never has there been an entire industry so homogenous in their leftist slant, except perhaps their media brethren, the journalists.
Ann Coulter’s famous advice to song writing celebrities, “Shut up and sing”, would apply here, except that in this case maybe it should be “Shut up”, period.
Also, thousands of dollars to see a show? Really? I had no idea how much money I was saving!
I'm no longer surprised. They're part of that global web and their superiority complex has gone unchallenged. I don't think they've ever had the propaganda they promote challenged by meaningful life experiences.
“Show Wont last long.”
Unfortunately, the musical Hamilton will run on Broadway for years. It is a monster hit and now has the cachet of being the show where Vice President Elect Mike Pence was booed.
The understudy now playing Hamilton is an HIV positive homosexual. Disgusting.
I’m a little confused about your point. But I loved your last sentence, lol.
Cast members are generally informed about celebrities in the audience. I have a friend in a straight play on B’way and she was told Barbra Streisand was in the audience. It turns out she hated the show just as much as I did so sometimes she’s right. (But I’m glad my pal is employed.)
Can you imagine the outrage of the left if someone had schooled Hillary at a show like this?
It would be non stop.
Yet the libs still protest the showings of CHARLIE CHAN movies! Wonder what they would do with MR MOTO!
Judging by the near 50-50 popular vote, the dumb bastards just lost half of all future/prospective ticket buyers.
I’m going back to NY very soon on business and I always go to at least one show. It damn sure won’t be this one.
Everyday they reaffirm our original view of them. They are adults who have the mindset of unruly children behaving badly.
I remember the Soetoros’ going to a musical called URINETOWN.
After that, I had assumed that Broadway had gone out of business.
LOL! Oh, the irony!
My point was that it Broadway shows attract mostly out of towners who would not be expected to react like the typical New Yorkers.
But, I guess attendees at “Hamilton” could be a the typical libtards. I have seen audiences at sporting events boo other audience members but never at a play. That is just unconscionable.
(L)iberals have a history of attacks against Republican Presidents in theaters.
Just like my Great-Grandparents from Upstate SC said just after the civil rights act of 1964, “THEY WILL NEVER BE HAPPY”.
Is Brandon Victor Dixon his slave name?
LOL
