Professors call Founding Fathers ‘terrorists,’ founding ideals a ‘fabrication’

A humanities course currently taught at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs teaches that the Founding Fathers were hypocrites, terrorists and money-hungry barons who used hyperbole and fear to rile up the colonists to revolt against England.

The “Resistance and Revolution” class is co-taught by history lecturer Jared Benson and sociology instructor Nicholas Lee, who also suggest that it was Mikhail Gorbachev – not Ronald Reagan — who brought down the collapse of the Soviet Union, and that wealthy CEOs deserve to be in a “moral prison,” among many other assertions.

Calling the Founding Fathers “terrorists,” Benson and Lee voice criticism and cynicism against many of the events leading up to the Revolutionary War, teaching students the founding ideals were “merely a fabrication for a social movement” — a means to an end for the colonist elites who were tired of England’s control and needed the gullible masses to help them break free. They argued the Revolutionary War wasn’t really about freedom. The educators suggest that the only people truly affected by taxation were the rich. However, the rich could not wage war on their own and needed the poor to fight for them.

These kids get indoctrinated in high school and then again in college. If you have never seen a garbage can then you don’t know what was suppose to come out of it. They need to expand their studies to know what is garbage and what isn’t garbage. Restricting them from what you and others consider to be garbage doesn’t help them understand what garbage is. They need to have experience from both sides to understand and then appreciate.

LOL The instructor has a chance for tenure. That’s tenure track. Lecturer, no, not tenure track.

Wasn’t Obama a lecturer?

"Rise of the Republic of the United States" - Richard Frothingham.

"Ideas have consequences"(Weaver).

In 2016, we must remember that the ideas of 1776 came out of a set of ideas consistent with liberty.

We tend to forget, or have never considered, that other world views existed then, as now.

Unless today's citizens rediscover the ideas of liberty existing in what Jefferson called "the American mind" of 1776, we risk going back to the "Old World" ideas which preceded the "Miracle of America."

There are those who call themselves "progressives," when, in fact, their ideas are regressive and enslaving, and as old as the history of civilization.

Would suggest to any who wish an authentic history of the ideas underlying American's founding a visit to this web site, at which Richard Frothingham's outstanding 1872 "History of the Rise of the Republic of the United States" can be read on line.

This 600+-page history traces the ideas which gave birth to the American founding. Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.

Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America? Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play.

In other words, they must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals and power for themselves.

All colleges/universities receive fed $ one way or another; at the very least student loans. Yank it all, from all of them.

Not quite correct. Two colleges do not accept federal dollars of any sort -- including student loans.

Hillsdale and Grove City.

I was thinking that Hillsdale didn’t.... only two, though, wow.

Universities are vortexes of evil, other than a tiny handful. Years ago I used to have a list of the good ones, about ten, IIRC.

Nowadays, most college educations aren't worth what they cost. In most cases, only the STEM degrees would be worth their price. And, coming from Silo Tech, I'd add Agriculture degrees.

I chose not to make a real reply yesterday because of time.

This professor is a latent loyalist. He never got over allegiance to the king. Today he longs for Neoeuropa, Europe on North America. He wants to be European.

His life should be made miserable every day in every way he should be ostracized and shunned by real Americans. His very lively hood shood be removed. He should not have a public job.

WE can help Trump by being his choir voice. This institution needs to be inundated with demands for resignations of these “professors”

Pathetic! Thank God for the section of the country that pushed back and voted for Trump. We can hold off the liberal wave a bit longer. We’ve got to start alternative colleges and news outlets if we are to combat the liberal lie.
