I will wait to see what happens when Trump and Sessions are actually in office, instead of listening to Morning Joe and an unnamed source. But this is NOT about prosecuting the other party - this is about a party shielding one of their own from clear wrongdoing.
He might not prosecute her, but no reason not to appoint a special, independent prosecutor to do so.
It isn’t a matter of “seeking prosecution.” It is a matter of appointing honest heads of the FBI and DOJ to take another look at the facts and proceed from there based on whether any laws were broken. There is no “she’s been through enough” here.
Is he also going to keep the details of her antics under wraps?
It’s not Trump’s decision to make. That is the role of a federal grand jury.
BULL SH!T ~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These GD criminals have gotten away with it for DECADES and there needs to be justice if we want to discourage such behavior in the future.
In truth, Trump doesn’t have to seek her prosecution. That what Sessions will do.
I didn’t think of that before. You are 110% correct. Hillary Clinton’s trial, on all too many charges, took place during the 2016 election.
By vote of the largest jury in history, she was adjudged GUILTY. The SENTENCE imposed was dismissal from her sought after office and a judgement that will last forever.
There ought to be a less public way than a formal prosecution to get to the bottom of the Foundation dealings, so the record will be available in the future. I'm open to suggestions.
Two thoughts:
1. Says he/they won’t pursue HRC. Doesn’t mean they won’t go after the foundation and bring others to justice for any wrongdoing that is found.
2. Might be a ploy to discourage B.O. from issuing a pardon, to let him think one won’t be necessary.
Not a big fan of political parties nominating criminals for the top office in the nation. THAT is for 3rd world cesspits, and the more we can do to discourage it, the better. People go to jail for far less than what she has done. Trump doesn't need to be involved, but I'd rather he allowed his AG to go where the evidence leads.
I’m not a fan of persecuting political opponents either, but I’m all for prosecuting criminals. There absolutely needs to be a complete and honest investigation into all allegations of illegal activity. How can we ever expect to hold anyone else to the legal standards in place if we simply ignore the most egregious criminal conduct of those in power? If there’s nothing there so be it. But if there are actual crimes that have been committed they should be prosecuted.
There is a whole industry of political corruption involved in the Clinton foundation and the democratic parties voter fraud efforts.
How will it ever be cleaned up if it is never prosecuted?
Who will prosecute it?
The Democrats? Never.
The Republicans? Well that would not be gentlemanly.
The point I’m trying to make is that in an honest administration, political expediency does not trump law, however that process plays out.
Head fake
The real goal should be:
1) Get the facts on the table
2) Recover ill gotten booty
3) Undo National security damage
4) Get the F’n Uranium back
After that, let nature take it’s course. The Clinton’s won’t have the life expectancy of a housefly.
