He’s brilliant. If he had said otherwise or nothing at all, Obama would have issued her a pre-emptive pardon. After he’s nominated, he can “green light” Sessions to pursue the matter.
Could be a head fake to make sure Rochester doesn’t pardon her.
( A great number of us want to see the clinton’s go down to Chinatown. I hope Sessions comes after them with extreme prejudice).
Inaugurated, not nominated. Just got up.
Hillary is at least one hundred times the criminal that Nixon ever was. Holding her to account is not about politics or revenge — it is about the rule of law. It is about reminding our public servants that we are their sovereigns and they are our servants. It is about seeking the truth. It is about stabbing into the very heart of each and every politician the fear of God, justice and equality under the law. Prosecuting Hillary is the right thing to do.
Half the electorate thinks like she does. Denial. I would be ok with a pardon if all of her crimes were listed and she agreed to be pardoned for those particular crimes. Any crime she wouldn’t agree to would be prosecuted.
Then jail everyone else around her that were involved in those crimes.
The Clintons have stolen billions and committed treason and left thousands dead and wounded in their trail.
Trump is starting off badly by letting these criminals go.
Did he meet with Bill Clinton at an airport somewhere!
I am betting they think if they do this the press will like him. He will be wrong.
and throw away the key
Perhaps this rumor is grounded in inside info, stronger even than what the public can see, that Hillary is on her way out, existentially speaking, on a timetable that would cheat the hangman.
Sessions and the Trump transition team should make no statements about any particular cases or individuals. As others have commented, the proper course for dealing with Hillary is to appoint an independent prosecutor to follow the law, and keep politics out of it.
Trump’s priority should be purging the government of individuals who have used their positions for partisan ends against the American people (IRS, DoJ, FBI, etc.). Only when that is well underway, will it be possible to get anywhere with the big fish. Expect lots of crying and hand wringing.
I listened and what I heard was:
TRUMP is not going after Hillary, BUT that doesn’t mean that his A.G. won’t; and remember she is still under investigation already, do we know what will be found? No, we don’t...
TRUMP won’t go after Hillary, BUT the people in this election did, that’s why she lost, even with her voter fraud she lost, she was found guilty on all counts...she isn’t the President Elect is she??? NO...
Do I like the way this came out? NO..I think this should have come from Trump, but then on the other hand, could be he is letting his A.G. make decisions about what course of action he will take by appointing someone like Rudy and having Sessions as A.G.... there are a lot of things to look at in the past 8 years, by putting Sessions in as A.G. that opens up some others to take on other cases concerning the Clintons...
I have a few things here:
1) Its not the presidents job to prosecute, its the AG’s. So this should be moot.
2) An AG is supposed to be independent and impartial, but for the media, that only applies to Republicans. They are used to low life politicized AG’s for the democrats, who take orders from the WH. So if Trump’s AG is looking into prosecution, then Trump won’t get in the way.
3) If there is no there, there, then why is the media all in a tizzy about prosecutions and pardons.
Giving the Clintons a pass is not avoiding a distraction, it is a capitulation. Hopefully, Trump is putting this out to prevent an Obama pardon. Trump has admitted to having two telephone conversations with Obama since they met at the WH. They may have struck some sort of deal on a Clinton pardon.
Is it his determination? Trump campaigned against such interference and talked about a rigged system. Allowing the Clintons to walk away with hundreds of millions of dollars and obstructing justice is not the way to start off an administration. If true, this will be a major disappointment and hurt Trump among supporters like me. The Rule of Law is not the way Third World "cesspits" operate. By not prosecuting the Clintons and holding them accountable because of their position in society is exactly how Third World banana republics operate.
Another scenario:
Trump’s guys are deep in the classified info of the government now and perhaps has the goods on the whole batch of them, Klinton, Obama, all of them. If he were, for the good of the country, to say, ‘Ok, I will defer going after the lot of you if I get everything my way when I start to straighten out this mess. But if I get one squeak from ANY of you, I will initiate preceeding on ALL of you!’, can you imagine what could be accomplished in four or 8 years?
‘What could’ should be ‘what he could’
There are downsides to prosecution: The left can claim that there is a junta-style ‘imprison your political enemies’ scenario going on. While there may not be, you KNOW the left will use the precedence and actually do the tyranny-thingEy.
Trump has a family to protect.
“The US electorate returned a devastating GUILTY verdict to Hillary.”
The grandest of juries.
My money is on the Clintons being placed on the back burner. If they’re smart -and they’re not- they will quietly go away and not attract any attention.

I am NOT caving, I am predicting. The only people caving are those who will make excuses for Trump.
No you are caving. Preemptively. What a fine surrender party plantation conservative you are.
You are caving by defending a cave in.
I agree. I hate to see the Clintons and their buddies being above our laws. As for Hillary suffering enough, that is not true. She has not suffered anything but has been catered to by the media, Hollywood elite, and others. She has never had to face the consequences of her behavior. A bad example for those planning to break laws.
