It’s simple, really. Prosecuting and jailing her would be a unnecessary self-inflicted political distraction for the foreseeable future.
Trump is a pragmatist, in business and in life. He is all about arraigning the elements necessary for successfully completing a project (whether it’s making America great again or finishing a skyscraper). That ultimately means disposing of barriers to success before ever starting.
Others have already mentioned other good reasons to let this go. Remember, the important thing is that from this point forward we restore America’s potential.
