President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday chose South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
Haley was an outspoken Trump critic throughout much of his campaign, yet she's now poised to be the first female Cabinet-level official in the Trump administration.
"Governor Haley has a proven track record of bringing people together regardless of background or party affiliation to move critical policies forward for the betterment of her state and our country," Trump said in a statement. "She is also a proven dealmaker, and we look to be making plenty of deals. She will be a great leader representing us on the world stage."

Reserve judgement on reports about Minion. I still think he won’t be the SecState, but can’t get confirmation from Team Trump.
Thanks for the info. I suspected as much. The bonus is the Sikh relationship with the Islamic controlled UN.
Thank you. I’m a firm believer that there is logical reasons for all of his decisions, he is just several steps ahead of all of us.
I’m just sitting back watching.
Independent thought is alive and well.......maybe not.
is logical = are logical
When liberals say 'people of color,' they only mean American born blacks who vote for more and bigger government freebies, illegal aliens from South of the Border, coming to America for government freebies and opportunities of lawlessness granted by liberal leaders and others from terrorist-sponsoring nations, also from those who sponsor despotic and totalitarian leaders!
They definitely do not mean people from African nations who desire the "American Dream" and the freedoms to work and build their own dream and certainly not those from democratically led nations like India, who would naturally gravitate toward self-sufficiency, freedom and liberty!
I don’t care for Haley after her VERY QUICK attack on the flag in the capitol grounds. She proved unable to resist jumping onto the “grievance” bandwagon when it came down to the choice. However, this position is a dead-end. She has no political power of her own. The UN ambassador simply does what the administration tells them. Though I could do without Mitt, that also applies to Secretary of State for that matter...
Trump has made some great choices so far for his cabinet in positions that count.
I have to say, all the Sikhs I’ve met were very decent people. Their main concern in life is being mistaken for Muslims due to the beards and turbans.
A hat tip by TRUMP to the RINO females, this one of minority status.
Nikki Haley stuck in the UN bubble, voting “Yea” and “Abstain”, is the perfect yawner of a job and it keeps her quiet and out.of.sight.
Isn’t it great when hatred is rewarded with high life and position, cash, perks and deference.
All these RINOs are going to turn around and run for president one day, or rally together around someone just like them.
We the people will pay for this BS, just not today.
It’s called “Peace at any price”. We were warned against such idiotic thinking.
Most Latinos I’ve known were decent too
It’s how they vote
Some freepers confuse Sikhs as Gurkha like and this pristine cultural history
So aren’t you glad that Haley is out as Governor, to be replaced by a Trump supporter?
Thanks for the confirm. A three fer as I see it. 1. Moves her out of SC in favor of a loyalist. Very important in my view. 2. A great move with Americans of Indian descent who have been strong supporters. 3. Sets other chess pieces into place.
If she agrees, and I think she will, nicely done in my view.
“Confirmed with Team Trump. Purely strategic move to get her where she cant do any damage and move Trumper into SC Gov office.”

BRILLIANT!!!
Wow.
Am I going to have a president who I’m actually able to trust?!?!
It seems too good to be true, but I’m starting to believe it.
Thank you, LS.
You’re a treasure.
As a conservative South Carolinian, I’m not a huge fan of Governor Haley. But I don’t mind this. She is a conservative and is termed out so we might end up getting a much better governor here out of the deal!
Gotta get at least one affirmative action adviser, I guess.
I’m hoping that Trump doesn’t reward the devious, duplicitous, Willard with the the plum assignment of SOS in the Trump Administration. Moreover, reading the political tea leaves, could the selection of Haley as UN Ambassador presage a Willard elevation to State, given the tight relationship between Haley and Willard. Haley would be a perfect fit for the emerging little Mittens foreign policy team given their past close association, so maybe there’s more to Haley elevation to the Trump team than in just kicking her upstairs, and checking off a diversity box.
I don’t agree with your negative response.
President Elect Trump has already set in motion good things for us and he isn’t even in office yet.
I have LOTS of hope and confidence!
Good.
She won’t be a Governor bitching about deporting people from the US. We will have a Trump supporter in as Governor.
Go Trump!
Thanks! I’ve been reading Bill Mitchell’s twitter account today and it’s clear what Trump is doing in general, especially with the Hitlery statements, and Mitchell’s radio show yestrday is on there and also very edifying. Thanks for the specifics about Haley.
