I think her claim was that the hacking happened within the vote aggregating system, which could occur even with paper ballots. In other words, the totals don’t match what the local precincts reported. Should be pretty easy to check against the individual precinct numbers. I’d worry that more votes have been added to those ballot boxes since election day, the local totals adjusted, and lo-and-behold they will have proved “hacking” of the central system because the local numbers must be the right ones.

It also easy to “hack” the ballot readers where paper ballots are used. There is a youtube video where a group proved they could replace a removable memory cartridge on the machine and have it report whatever they wanted after all the ballots were scanned. Correct total ballots but a pre-designed percentage applied for each candidate. Then those numbers from the reader are reported to the state system and no internet access was ever needed — the election gets hacked even though the ballots were paper and even though no one from outside could hack into anything. All you would have to do would be to send out the data cartridges that had been physically hacked ahead of time to misreport the results.

I just saw that and wondered if this could be done when they do the recount therefore changing the original vote which favored Trump.
I do not think the election was hacked but do feel that are trying to do it now with this recount.

After votes are certified by the Secretary of State, aren’t the machines just put away? The chain of custody will have been broken. There is nothing left to count.

The Feds certify the Electoral College in December, but in the individual states it is over. The individual Secretaries of State have certified, and the counting, and recounting, process is complete.

The precinct I worked at had those machines. There were five people staring at the machine after voting stopped and until the printout was generated. There had to be at least one representative of each major political party. A copy of the printout was posted on the door for all to see before the memory stick was prepared for transport to county election headquarters.

I can't imagine what more could be done to stop shenanigans. Anybody could check that posted tally with the tally from the memory stick when it got downtown.

Unless there's a way that the memory stick could've been pre-hacked to throw a certain percentage of votes to another candidate, it looked pretty well guarded. That would be risky since the paper ballots are locked in a secure, guarded container. The only way to improve it would be a Back to the Future move. When I was a young voter, those ballots were hand counted at the precinct with anyone who wanted to do so watching.

With these paper ballots, a hand count would be possible, but at this point who knows how secure those ballots have been?

FWIW, I'm glad I worked as a county poll worker for election day. It's nice to have been part of the process first hand. One soon realizes that greater safeguards lead to greater complexity and that doesn't solve any more problems than it creates. The only solution is an honest respect for the importance of the integrity of elections, and we're a long way from there.

JMHO....my mind is using the keyboard to get these thoughts in place.

Like I said, STRAIGHT to violent revolution if this insanity happens in all three states and she wins.
