The problem with Donald Trump's stance on global warming (CBS News "live science")
CBS News ^ | Nov. 26, 2016 | Mark Lennihan, AP

Is there reason to doubt climate change because some of the nation’s hottest days happened in 1898, as President-elect Donald Trump told the New York Times in an interview Tuesday?

In an exchange with Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and staff about climate change on Tuesday (Nov. 22), Trump said, “I have an open mind to it,” but later added, “You know the hottest day ever was in 1890-something, 98. You know, you can make lots of cases for different views.”

However, it’s misleading to single out a weather event — such as a particularly hot day in 1898 — as evidence for or against climate change, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Ocean Service (NOS).

Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that this rapid warming is not due to natural causes, but due primarily to the result of human activity, according to NASA.

The fears are driven from theories, none of them proven or even experimentally demonstrable, that CO2 will send the world into runaway.

But CO2 has been higher in eras that were, to be sure, quite warmer — but not runaway. Earth never turned into a soil sterilizing Venus. If we went back to those times, we might have summer homes in Siberia, but we wouldn’t die.

I know you know this. “Fake “ science is required of so called scientists in order to get their GRANTS of taxpayer money!! It is all a fraud!!

Well anyhow the challenge before us now is how to “get it real.”

If the big think tanks weren’t preferentially rewarded for concluding only one possible scenario... we’d have science that would prognosticate a much saner story.

The 97% claim has been debunked several times

Thank you! I was going to post that myself. I'm sick and tired of all the crap they try to push as fact. I'm really hoping with Trump we can shed some light on the actual facts.

.
Those theories have been shattered by Hadley CRU’s own emails.

Most of them center on “hiding the decline.”

The best picture (using Redneck Vision) would probably be something like this: in 10,000 years WORST CASE (i.e. only CO2 is a driver and there aren’t any solar dips) we’re going to have some moving around to do if we want to stay comfortable and dry. But earth is not poised to kill us. Our homes and roads and buildings will wear out faster than that. And this is if Jesus tarries that long!

They OUGHT to stay shattered but somehow there is always a supply of glue enough to paste them back together.

Here was the deal. “You sell out to our bull shit or you don’t get the free money”. I am not kidding. It was the “ consensus” because these parasite , so called ,”scientists” wanted to eat and go to the Mall!! That is absolute truth. There is no “global warming” and “climate change” has no definition!! How stupid are we?

OK!! Everybody pay attention!

Lesson for today:

1. The sun is 1,300,000 times as big as the earth.

2. The sun is a giant nuclear furnace that controls the climates of all its planets.

3. The earth is one of the sun’s planets.

4. The earth is a speck in comparison to the size of the sun.

5. Inhabitants of the earth are less than specks.

Study Question: How do less-than-specks in congress plan to control the sun?

[[However, it’s misleading to single out a weather event]]

Apparently it’s only bad when republicans single out events, but when democrats single out super storm sandy=- why by golly that’s just fine and dandy evidently

global warming in my opinion is going to be the issue by which a one world order controls the masses- making everything so damn expensive that most but the vetry rich will be unable to afford it0- but not to worry- you can ‘get the mark’ to pay on credit for your carbon credits- and food, and heat etc-

I agree that our impact is minimal; I also agree that there is a spiritual side to it, where people who live immoral lives (in a Judeo-Christian context) convince themselves that they are “good” because they recycle. It is easier to worship “Mother Earth” (where they can make up the rules) than to worship God (with fairly clear-cut rules they don’t want to follow).

At one time, 100% of scientists believed:

1. The Earth is flat.

2. The Sun and Moon rotate around the Earth.

3. Fire is caused by too much or not enough Phlogiston.

4. Cells are filled with a jelly-like substance called protoplasm.

5. The continents don’t move.

6. The atom is indivisible and indestructible.

7. The contents of the atom is like a plum pudding.

8. The motions of solar system bodies are governed by a Ptolemaic system of epicycles.

9. Dinosaurs are cold-blooded animals.

So, 97% of scientists being wrong about so-called global warming is actually a pretty small number compared to the percentage of wrong scientists in the past.

And Hillary had a 97% chance of winning the election.

If I recall, the 97% was from a survey sent out only to scientists who had written articles about global warming, and most of them didn’t even respond to the survey.

Why not study weather or climate, period, without hyphenated bs terms added to it.

This is not science, it is politics, just like the terms: domestic-violence, gun-violence, domestic-terror etc; Climate-change is another in the hate-crime and speech-crime lists of “creative-demicrats”

Materialist demagogy or dialectics is basically a “I Obama can save your kitty from dying thanks to my genius in solar pannels”.

It is disgusting.
