It works like this:
You posted “Trump can’t “drain the swamp” if he appoints senior administration officials who have been living in its fetid stench for the last 30+ years.”
Conclusion: If you haven’t be deeply involved, you are IGNORANT.
As an outsider, Trump needs Bolton to help him understand the complexities in the world, so that TRUMP can set informed policy.
Your concept of outside the beltway types being sufficiently informed expresses the triumph of hope over experience.
Bolton is best by far, imo. Why Trump is dallying w/ other candidates is beyond me.
Rudy appears to be demanding SOS to bolster his foreign policy quals for a 20 or 24 run for POTUS. I see no other reason for Rudy to specify that he wants only SOS.
I agree plus she’s too smart to say anything that’s going to rub her boss the wrong way.
I wouldn’t trust the daughter of Zbig if she sang the national anthem on her show!
I agree with Kellyanne. Picking Romney is also foolish. The majority of Americans don’t trust or like him or he would have been our last President. He said to many bad things about Trump. You can’t come back from that.
***My guess is that this has been orchestrated to highlight the Romney pick as an olive branch to the Republican establishment. Trump is now scheduled to meet Romney again. I would expect that Romneys nomination will follow shortly.***
If true it changes my view of Trump. They should be extending an olive branch not him. I’ll take a wait and see approach. I’m not sure he’ll do as you say.
We shall see.
yep
1. He was an Assistant Attorney General under Ronald Reagan in 1988-89.
2. He was an Assistant Secretary of State from 1989 to 1993.
3. He was an Under Secretary of State from 2001 to 2005.
4. He was the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations for less than a year and a half from August 2005 to December 2006.
He's been a senior lawyer for one of the biggest D.C. law firms since then, and works for a number of think tanks and nonprofit organizations. I'd be curious to know who pays his salary in some of these positions -- which is why I included this consideration in my proposed "interview process" I posted above.
He's also a special advisor in a company called Freedom Capital Investment Management, which means -- in light of his other D.C. affiliations -- he probably has more potential conflicts of interest than anyone else who is being considered for this position.
My belief the whole Romney thing was to embarrass him and tell him he not smart enough to be Sos To make him look like fool have him apologize then tell him no. Trump is no dummy folks
Have you ever listened to Bolton interviews and opinion pieces on Fox.
He has VERY in depth knowledge of leaders and political cultures, including their complex inter-relationships.
You have suspicions without any real foundation.
You seem incapable of accepting that Bolton truly has America’s best interest at heart, and prefer to assign self-enrichment as his only possible motivations.
Why?
Personally, I think he disqualified himself from consideration for any senior role in Washington back in the late 1990s -- during one of the gaps in his public-sector "resume" that I described above -- when he decided to sign on to a very public effort to push the Clinton administration to launch military strikes against Serbia on behalf of the Islamic separatists in Kosovo. I don't believe anyone who pushed a disgraced, impeached f#%&-up like Bill Clinton to pursue such an indefensible course of action can ever be trusted to protect America's interests.
I totally agree, no way would she “go rogue” ... Trump knows exactly what she is doing and he knows exactly what HE is doing. This admin is going to be a “hoot” ... everybody will be guessing which nutshell is hiding the bean. He’s a master at this and it will drive the press NUTS. But if we don’t get involved, but just sit back and eat the popcorn, this is really going to be entertaining.
I think his fury is part of the kibuki theater they are putting on right now about the decision. She was told to make it look like Trump didn’t want her to say mean things about Romney, when he did. There is no way he would forgive Romney for what he did, but he is smart enough to try to coopt him to bring unity during the first term. He will, for example, need to bring Romney’s running mate under control.

Exactly right about State filled with lefties. Doubtful any administration can replace the whole staff, but dumping the likes of Patrick Kennedy would be an excellent start. Whoever takes the job will need to have the same steely focus as Trump in dealing with the State employees, moreso than the whole entire globe!
A couple of weeks ago, regarding the Trump administration, Mike Huckabee warned that no one talking as an “unnamed insider source” actually knew anything, and that those on the inside who actually knew what was going on were going to keep their mouths shut.
If Trump tells me Im wrong, I will accept it.
yep...I’m at exactly the same place.

Youse guys let us know if Trump contacts you.
LOL. You'll be the first to know!
