Since the violence thrust upon The Ohio State University, I have had time to think about who am and what it means to love and fear, and the effect of each of those on those closest to me. This is my conclusion: A child goes to bed at night fearing the unknown. Fearing the monsters in their closets, under their staircases. Is there’s no difference between society’s Fear of Muslims and a child’s closet monster? All it takes is the 'will' to make it go away. That 'will' has the power not only to unite, but to destroy ISIL’s credibility. Is our society so broken that we cannot see past our blind fear? Our power comes from our diversity as a people, and from that diversity spawns something greater than fear. Love. This is the message Muslims around the world are trying to send. Love discredits ISIL, as is takes away their base of power, Fear. Every American NEEDS to become one of the many who decided to put aside their differences and to get off their butts to take a stand. Love your fellow Americans. Only by refusing the feeling of isolation ISIL hopes to promote, can we dream of saving ourselves. I am not afraid. I have faith in change. I have hope. The time has come to decide if you’re a scared child, or if you’ve grown to embrace the unknown and make it one of your own. Love unknowns. Only when we learn to love, will we regain the love from those we thought lost."

Alex, I think it safe to say that everything you believe, is wrong. Equating ISIS with an imaginary monster is absurd. ISIS is not imaginary, it is real and has killed thousands of people. Muslims are also real and like movie monsters, suddenly appear and kill innocent people without warning. Not all Muslims are murderous monsters, but at this time there is no way to tell the good from the bad. As we have seen, they may be your friend and colleague at work for 15 years, then show up at your Christmas party to kill dozens of their co-workers. As for your comments about loving Muslims, I suggest you test your theory the next time a Jihadi shows up on campus. Approach him and express your love and understanding. Tell him your delusional thoughts on how diversity is a strength. Try to use the power of diversity to save your life. Let us know how that works out for you.
