But they still have a right to protest.

Not on private land, not on public streets and highways, and not on Army Corps of Engineer lands.

The Bundy group in Oregon assembled PEACEFULLY on federal lands...somehow the authorities didn't view that situation quite so patiently or charitably.

By the way, the MSM hasn't given much time to the protesters brandishing a bloody pig's head on a stake in Bismarck, nor in gearing up in protective vests and helmets and shouting, "Are you ready to die?" to policemen and National Guardsmen, nor to the fact that the young woman whose arm was nearly blown off was one of several who tried lighting propane tanks to throw at the line of policeman and Guardsmen.

This isn't a protest. It is an often violent riot.

Yes.

If the protesters are doing those things then they need to be moved out.

Not on private land, not on public streets and highways..

Agreed.

...and not on Army Corps of Engineer lands.

I disagree with you there. What makes "Army Corps of Engineer" land different from other publicly-owned land?

This isn't a protest. It is an often violent riot.

If that is the case then they should be removed.

You and I can’t “protest” on Army Corps of Engineer land without being arrested.

In fact you and I can do damn little on Corps land, without going through an extensive, expensive and nearly unending permit process.

I am not saying I think that is a good thing. I’m just saying that if the Corps has told us to stay off “their” land, you and I had better the hell do it.

They have told this rabble to get off their land.

Again, I refer to the Oregon group who were rounded up on federal land at gunpoint-—and one of them shot dead in the back.

Yes this pipeline will replace 750 train tanker cars per day of oil being transported via rail.

This pipeline runs 92 feet under the water supply.

This pipeline is on private property.

The Standing Rock Souix tribe refused to engage in over 40 pre construction planning and input sessions and never raised any objections to the pipeline until it became a publicity stunt.

Which is better/safer, a new pipeline or an old pipeline? With a new pipeline in place, they might be able to shut the old one off to do maintenance.

For that matter, what is more secure, one pipeline or two? If one pipeline has a leak, oil could still be sent to refineries using a second pipeline.

Just love how the alt-left makes up numbers like “2,000 veterans” and the enemedia uncritically regurgitates their talking points. So, when maybe 20 “veterans” actually finally show up, the enemedia will be no where nearby to report the discrepancy between the 2,000 claimed and the 20 actual.

Are these vets walking or riding their bikes to protest.

If they are driving or flying, they are two faced bastards.

One of Oakland, California’s lesbian city council members is flying back to protest the pipeline.

Search the financial records of these bastards to see if the Opecker Princes or Warren Buffett are paying these liberals to protest.

Or is George $oreA$$ financing these renta mobbers like he is financing the election recount thugs.

So called green activists say pipelines pollute, and would happily blow one up to prove it!

Imagine, if the 2000 veterans are truly peaceful, and law-abiding, this will have the effect of blocking off all the protesters from other people’s private property, from shooting things at the police, from trying to overrun the company land and the police positions.

In short, the veterans will be doing exactly the job law enforcement has been trying to do, form a barrier between the protesters and the pipeline work.

And if the veterans just break the law like the other protesters, they aren’t shields, they are swords, and will be arrested.

That is, if any are left after the snowstorms and sub-zero temperatures get to them.

The ‘natives’ sat on their butts for other pipelines that are now in existence. Why now?

I have the same question. I’m sure outside organizations helped push this. This is the only section of the entire pipeline that is in question. And it has passed thru many tribal areas and bodies of water.

As the Federal Govt seized more land from the States, we will see more of this.

Yes, at the camp by Dec 5. That’s where they can protest.
