You are right in saying Jesus was a Jew. He claimed first to have come for the lost sheep of the Hebrews. Yet, Jesus worked several prominent miracles with & for gentiles as written in the gospels.
After the Resurrection, Jesus specifically commissioned his apostles ad disciples to go forth with the news of salvation to all nations.
The idea that Jesus is either white, black or Asian is not important as he was a Jew. Christian churches in Africa often have images of Jesus and his Mother, Mary, as dark skinned. I have no problem with the use of art in the spreading of the Gospel, but it should not negate Jesus as being a Jew.
Using art to spread the Gospel was the norm before people were literate. It is why all the great masters in western art history were employed by churches - why the great cathedrals and churches of Europe are filled with art, statues, stained glass windows, painted ceilings, etc.
I do wish more people would know their history better and not be jumping to conclusions that this group and that group are racists.

IMO the central issue,the only important question,is:is God at all bothered by His Son being portrayed as African...Asian...European,etc?
I could be wrong but my hunch is that He isn't.
