Now that Craftsman tools are made in China, I have no reason to ever shop at Sears again. I just wonder who will move into my local Sears store once it closes.
Hobby Lobby took over our Kmart that closed last year.
I didn't know that. That's a shame.
Yep. Craftsman were once the best amateur tools available.

Maybe they’ll bring back their manufacturing to the USofA, now that Trump is Pres-Elect.
Maybe Sears can be made great - or at least very good, again.

I wondered why ratchets have been breaking so often and why a new Craftsman hammer drill and a C3 won’t hold a bit tight in the Chuck. But, electrics have probably been made overseas for some time.
We have a local Sears Hardware store. Several years ago, I bought a water heater there. About fourteen months later, or two months after the manufacturer’s warranty expired, the liner separated from the tank and the thing spewed water all over my garage. Sears said I was SOL. I cut up my Sears card and never went back.
As for the Sears Hardware, nobody shops there. The place has been dead for years. The Do It Center across the street is always hopping.
This morning Mrs. henkster saw the “closing sale” sign on the Sears Hardware.
Belk clothing store moved into our humongous now closed Sears. If they didn’t get a great deal on rent they won’t last long, either.
I buy 70s and 80s era Craftsman hand tools on Ebay.
In our area that tends to be an army of eyebrow threaders and nail salons.
No wonder their ratchets are CRAP!
The Sears store in Aiken, SC was located in a local shopping mall. Nice store.
The store closed and reopened several miles away as Sears Hometown at a much smaller strip mall in a much smaller location.
A few years ago, a daughter bought me a Craftsman rolling tool cabinet for Christmas. I didn't need it as I have a couple other tool cabinets, but kept it. I was shocked at how poorly and cheaply it was made. The sheet metal was thin, the welds poorly done, the drawers were not on rollers and had lousy handles, there was no lining in drawers and the wheels were flimsy. Contrast that to my other off-brand cabinets that were half the cost but several times better than Craftsman. It should be called Crapman!
I just wonder who will move into my local Sears store once it closes.
