Disgruntled Democrats Want A Constitutional Convention To Leave The Union

On Tuesday, disgruntled Democrats held a forum to discuss the possibility of replacing the Electoral College.

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) conceded that Democrats could not get rid of the Electoral College due to the way the United States Constitution is written.

“I don’t think we can sustain our American democracy by having the majority ruled by the minority. And so the question is how to fix this since the Constitution is written in such a way that it’s almost impossible to amend,” Lofgren said.

Lofgren went on to say she is open to a Constitutional Convention, “We are three states away from calling for a Constitutional Convention. It’s something I’ve always been opposed to, …. But I’ll say because, for the second time in sixteen years, people the American voters elected did not become president. Rational people, not the fringe, are now talking about whether states could be separated from the U.S., whether we should have a Constitutional Convention. And I think as time goes on that is apt to become more the case unless we here can figure an answer to preventing the majority from being ruled by the minority.

that a convention of the states would not appear to bode well for the Left.

At least, until that moment that the majority Republican State Legislatures decide to bend over backwards for the leftists. You know, because "bipartisanship".

The right has a habit of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It's what they do best. Once more, be careful what you wish for.

Considering it takes 38 states to approve an amendment, I don’t see a crazy left-wing rogue amendment gaining much traction.

If California left, it would be a long time before the USA had another Democrat President.

If tax havens were established in garden spots of the USA, the tech firms would like flee California’s taxes and regulation.

They would go the way of Venezuela. Without oil, they would probably have to prevent people/businesses from leaving by force of law - maybe build a wall.

It would be worth it. A one-way ticket on condition that they surrender U.S. citizenship. An investment in our future with high returns.

So the Democrats want to secede again...like that worked so well for them in the 1860’s

And, once again, their secesh outcries are fueled by a) the loss of a Presidential election and b) the desire to continue to keep their slave labor.

Neo-Bolshevism.

The Bolsheviks held to direct democracy (absolute majority rule), but that the party decided what was voted on.

The aforementioned Disgruntled Democrats don’t want a Constitutional Convention, they want a Communist Convention.

You make a good point!

Conservatives (meaning defenders of our Constitution) are always fighting on two fronts: Against the GOPEs/RINOs as well as the socialist Democrats/the Left.

We have not seen this much pure hatred of Democrats against a Republican president since, well, 1860.

the Constitution is written in such a way that it’s almost impossible to amend

Ignoring history.

Even a dumb-o-crat should know that the US Constitution has been amended 17 times and that there are 27 amendments.

What he really means it that it is not easy to add leftist, Feel-Good, snow-flake amendments that fly in the face of the Constitution itself.

Republican: "We are going to get this term limit amendment passed!"

Dummycrat: "Not without our help and support, you won't. And, if you want our help and support, let's talk about our 2nd Amendment amendment..."

Republican: "Ok..."

If this guy had a brain, he’d know the entire purpose of the constitution and driving force behind nearly ever decision that created it was to prevent the MAJORITY from running roughshod over the MINORITY.... pure democracy is a failed concept and the founders spoke at great lengths about the tyranny of the majority and the need to prevent it.

This guy is like most democrats... an absolutely blithering idiot, with no understanding of the government of his own country.
