Impeachment is the formal bringing of charges, much like an indictment. The impeached is only removed from office after trial and conviction.

They want to establish precedent of not following the electoral will of the state legislature. That way, all electors will be subject to bribery and blackmail.

I think even liberal judges understand this is an absurdity and you don’t mess with the presidential transition.
They also think by not voting they will stop the process from moving forward and therefore preventing Trump from taking office. Not just delusions but delusions of grandeur
