Scientists Want to Give the Atmosphere an Antacid to Relieve Climate Change
bloomberg.com ^ | 12/12/2016 | Eric Roston

A group of Harvard researchers led by David Keith, a professor of applied physics and public policy, just proposed a different solution in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. An aerosol of calcium carbonate would have a similar cooling effect as sulfur dioxide on the upper atmosphere and help protect the ozone layer as a bonus.

The approach is akin to giving the atmosphere a handful of antacid tablets. The aerosol would block some incoming solar energy and neutralize airborne acid particles that are bad for the ozone.

So now let’s intentionally monkey with Earth’s ecosystem in order to “fix” it. What could go wrong?

"What are you solving for? What is your end goal?"

Anthropogenic global warming is being used to justify policies on everything from food production, to mass transportation, to local zoning laws, to education, to lightbulb design, to automotive design, to almost anything you can think of, right down to the local level, and to what is allowed in your home. AGW is the totalitarian's dream.

Probably not as pricey as a carbon tax, cap and trade and tons of regulations including the ethanol mandate

They obviously didn’t watch “Snowpiercer”.
A few less permanent solutions are those fog ships that would increase albedo, painting everyone’s roofs white, and pushing grassland replanting over trees.

Idiots, hands off !!! Trying to treat something they don’t even have evidence needs to be ‘treated’.

Haven't listened to Art Bell in a long time, but I remember one of the shows on this "topic".

Basically, it boiled down to who owned the patent on it (TRW, iirc), and oh, btw, why not simply require it as an additive to jet fuel, and let the airlines do all the work?

That is, if you believe this stuff.

I tend to go with that Mother Nature is more responsible than specifically humans, but YMMV.

And if we are going into a cooling cycle? Why wasn’t this use earlier? Remember acid rain? Don’t mess with Mother Nature. lol

Not only that, but we’re in the middle of an ice age.

However, I’d rather see technological solutions like this if there really is a problem.

Massive government taxation and regulations are what we want to avoid, and the only reason crooked politicians are promoting climate scams in the first place.

the planet is going into what could be a decades long or longer ‘cooling period’ and they want to make it even cooler? Are they that murderous that they would want people to freeze to death? How about we let nature do what it’s going to do and has done for eons? man’s co2 takes up just 0.00136% of the atmosphere- Folks- there isn’t enough man produced CO2 to do ANYTHING to change the climate one iota- period- end of story- numbers don’t lie-

They did succeed at stopping Nuclear Winter back in the 1980’s. They closed the Ozone Hole in the 1990’s. It took another 10 years (Bush’s Fault), but they finally have the cure for making Winter cold again, like this year... Woo hoo!

Some of us have lived with mother nature for many decades but only in recent years did she start laying chemtrails in spirals and checkerboard patterns so predictable that by 8 am here you can predict that the entire sky will be hazy and pale for the rest of the day

I’ve even taken pictures of the more imaginative swirly plumes blotting out the sun - must make for an enjoyable ride for those passengers

You wonder how the pentagon “ lost” 6 trillion dollars

...and then it’s “oops, we did too much, sorry but we’ve caused an ice age”. The arrogance of these people is astonishing.
