• Rep. Ellison Explains Anti-Iron Dome Funding Vote: ‘Because We Need A Cease-fire’ (VIDEO)

Over the weekend, both the Senate and the House approved $225M in funding for the Iron Dome. The bill passed by unanimous consent in the Senate and by a 395 to 8 vote. Opposition to the funding of the Iron Dome demonstarted an unfortunate bi-partisan measure – four Democrats and four Republicans voted against it. The four Democrats were Keith Ellison (MN-05), Zoe Lofgren (CA-19), Jim Moran (VA-08), and Beto O’Rourke (TX-16); The four Republicans were Justin Amash (MI-03), Walter Jones (NC-03), Tom Massie (KY-04), and Mark Sanford (SC-01). Rep. Ellison explains vote on “Meet the Press”: “Because a ceasefire...

You may recall that on Friday, in what would have been a Christmas Miracle were it not several months early, Congress actually got something done. It was the passage of a bill approving $225M in funding for Israel’s Iron Dome defensive missile system. It was quite the bipartisan effort in retrospect, garnering an overwhelming 395 votes in the House with only eight in opposition. One of those eight was Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, and as The Corner reports, he went out on the weekend gab circuit to explain why he didn’t support the measure. “Because a cease-fire is what we...

The windows of restaurants and businesses are often crowded with signs and stickers denoting store hours and accepted credit cards, but a Leesburg restaurateur is looking to add one more decal in the name of constitutional rights. Bryan Crosswhite has created 2amendment.org, an online database where gun-rights businesses can register their names and addresses and get stickers for their windows that signal they are friendly to legal gun owners who exercise their right to bear arms. “We want to make it something for business owners who are pro-Second Amendment,” said Mr. Crosswhite, owner of The Cajun Experience. “A sticker on...

ST. PAUL, Minn. — As tens of thousands gathered in the nation's capital to mark the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's call for economic justice and racial equality, Minnesotans marched to the state Capitol in St. Paul. In the sweltering heat of the late summer sun, about 150 people commemorated the historic March on Washington for Freedom and Jobs event with spirituals, hip-hop and a reading of King's "I Have a Dream" speech. "Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee! Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi," read 12-year-old Cherrish Maxon of Minneapolis. "From every...

Ethanol is also imported from Canada, which is not subject to a tariff, and owing to trade agreements and foreign policy considerations, the United States is committed to importing ethanol from all Caribbean Basin countries, with special set-asides for El Salvador and Costa Rica. NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Toby Keith says gay marriage doesn't bother him and trying to stop it wastes time and money. The country superstar tells "CMT Insider" airing Saturday on CMT that he doesn't see the reason behind getting into people's personal lives. He says refusing a marriage license to people because they are gay won't stop them from living together, so it accomplishes nothing. Keith also weighed in on the military's now-repealed "don't ask, don't tell" policy that banned gays serving openly in uniform. He says that anyone with the training and passion should have the right to defend...

St. Paul, Minn. — Minnesota 5th District Congressman Keith Ellison said Thursday that Democratic lawmakers "need to create a real crisis" to force Republicans to renegotiate the tax cut compromise. House Democrats voted Thursday to reject the tax cut deal between the White House and Congressional Republicans. The compromise would extend Bush-era tax cuts for all Americans, including the wealthy. It also would renew benefits for the long-term unemployed, a measure President Obama had pushed for to prevent about 2 million Americans from losing benefits in the coming weeks. Republicans had opposed extending unemployment benefits. Ellison, who was recently elected...

OKLAHOMA CITY - Toby Keith didn't have to go to Nashville to become a country music superstar. Nashville came to Oklahoma. Keith — who won two American Music Awards on Sunday night — has never strayed too far from his Sooner State roots, working long days in oil fields, playing semiprofessional football and raising racehorses. "Most artists moved to Nashville," Keith said recently, lounging on a leather couch in his tour bus. "I never did have an address there. I was there for one day and never felt the need for more." Instead of traveling to the Tennessee country music...

From a USMC Captain stationed near Fallujah, on the modern-day successors to Bob Hope's USO tours: I've finally experienced something of interest that I can write about with no concern for breaching our operational security. Recently, Ted Nugent and Toby Keith came out to Camp Fallujah as part of their multi-stop, month long USO tour. Yes, you heard it right: Ted Nugent, Mr. Cat Scratch Fever himself, and Toby Keith, America's post-9/11 Leading Country Man played to a packed house of Marines and sailors at Camp Fallujah from 2330 until 0100 the next morning. Their schedule was rigorous; before their...

This is one of those "countdown" shows. I believe the feud that is number 3 on their list, Toby Keith vs The Dixie Chicks is near the end of the show. Toby Keith used the Dixie Duo image in his concerts while the "feud" was going on.

Ex-Hawk dies in car accident Former Blackhawks defenseman and coach Keith Magnuson was killed in an auto accident Monday in suburban Toronto, the team said. He was 56. Magnuson played for the Hawks from 1969 to 1980 and coached them for 1-1/2 seasons. He was riding with former Toronto Maple Leafs captain Rob Ramage, Hawks spokesman Jim DeMaria said. ''We're still investigating, but it looks like one car crossed over the center median,'' York Region Constable Steve Morrell told the Canadian Press. Magnuson was a member of the Hawks' 75th anniversary all-star team, selected in 2001. He coached the Hawks...

Did anyone else just see Toby singing Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue? What a great day, from W in Iraq, to this. The crowd went nuts. I can't believe that CBS would actually show this. I guess the NFL realizes their fans sympathies lie.
  • Foxnews Reporting Willie Nelson did what?

Foxnews reported that Willie Nelson sent Bandana's to the Texas Democrats who fled to Oklahoma. Now maybe I am too young to remember but in recent days I thought that Mr Nelson has become a Conservative? The main reason I thought this was because of his song with Toby Keith who is a known Conservative. Also his songs with Waylon Jennings who also campaigned for Republicans quite a bit. He reportedly sent them bandana's because they were outlaws???
