Famed Cleveland Browns running back Jim Brown speaks to CNN after meeting with President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday.

JIM BROWN: We're not bourgeoisie, we're not above the people. But I feel in love with him because he really talks about helping African-America, black people, and that's why I'm here.

“Ray Lewis was there.”

Yes, he met with Jim Brown and Trump, but
Lewis was not in the CNN video clip. That was the pastor. Look again.

Game over. If Jim Brown says he’s cool, and you don’t agree, you’re the one that’s gonna be wrong.

JIM BROWN: We're not bourgeoisie, we're not above the people.

In Marxist philosophy the bourgeoisie is the social class that came to own the means of production during modern industrialization and whose societal concerns are the value of property and the preservation of capital, to ensure the perpetuation of their economic supremacy in society. source: Wikipedia

I agree he was the greatest fullback ever; but, in the college All-Star game, Butkus met him head on over center, picked him up and dropped him for a loss, more than once.

Agreed..Mr Brown is indisputably the greatest RB who ever played the game. Absolutely dominant in his era—and he left the NFL at the peak of his career.

Fifty years ago, the last thing a pro safety or cornerback wanted to see was Jim Brown coming around the end on a sweep and the Browns great pulling guard, Gene Hickerson, leading the way. If Hickerson didn’t flatten them, Brown would, or he’d just shift into high gear and run past everyone.

Hickerson, BTW, is one of the most underrated players in the history of the game and one of the original free spirits. He refused to train, but remained the fastest lineman on the Browns (and one of the strongest) until he retired. Leaning against a goal post in Memorial Stadium before a game—imagine a player doing that in today’s NFL—Hickerson watched the great WR Paul Warfield practice running pass routes. “I can do better than that,”he told Warfield, and with that, the 250 pound dropped into three-point stance, took off and ran into the baseball dugouts and didn’t emerge until the game was ready to begin.

Jim Brown’s best blocker didn’t make the HOF until 40 years after he retired and by that time Hickerson was suffering from advanced dementia and had no idea what was going on. But Jim Brown was one of the men who pushed Hickerson’s wheelchair onto that stage in Canton.

Not much on Jim Brown’s politics. But as an NFL player, he was the best at his position and a stand-up guy. And watching him run behind Hickerson was a thing of beauty.

I doubt he was a supporter - meeting Trump in person seems to change a lot of folks’s attitudes on him.

Brown supported Hillary, but Donald gave him genuine respect and now, Brown is with him.

Loved the anchor’s barely repressed disbelief when she said: “You fell in love with Donald Trump?”

Trump is a Boss and yet, as Jim Brown said, he overcame tremendous odds, survived vicious personal attacks from all quarters and responded (mostly) with inclusive gestures. The respect and admiration for Trump is earned.

Powerful stuff.

More so they need a spiritual revival and the restoration of the importance of marriage and Black fathers providing a strong hand and moral guidance to their children. That’s been absent for a majority of Black families since the 1960s. Restore the family and all the other good things (economic revival) will flow from that.
